Codecs (Input plug-ins)
Codecs allow for playback, and in some cases, encoding of different formats. Note that Video codecs are only supported with MediaMonkey 4.
MediaMonkey 4 can play most audio/video formats using codecs already installed on your system. If you don't have the relevant codecs installed, this plugin adds support for aac (.m4a, .m4b), h.264 (.mp4, .m4v, .mkv), mpeg4 (.avi), + flash, .mov, and mpeg files. In addition, it supports encoding to aac, h.264, and mpeg4. The trial version is limited to 30-days of operation. Version History / Details
MediaMonkey 3 already has support for playback of .aac/.m4a/.m4b/.m4p tracks via Quicktime. This plugin adds support for encoding of .aac/.m4a tracks, along with native support (i.e. Quicktime is not required) for playback of .aac/.m4a/.m4b tracks. The trial version is limited to 30-days of operation. If you've already purchased the plugin, you can download the latest version here. Note: Version 1.0.6 fixes audio artifacts that can be introduced on quad-core systems. To install, download and double-click the .mmip file. Version History / Details
AC3 Filter decodes and processes AC3 audio used in some movies (DVD, MPEG4 and others). If the MediaMonkey Codec Pack, and FFDshow have already been installed and a video is playing without any audio, try installing this codec. Note: install the 'Stable' version of the codec from the download link. Version History / Details
The FFDshow codec pack adds support for a wide variety of video formats. If a video is unable to play even after installing the MediaMonkey Codec Pack, try installing FFDshow. Note: Install the x32 (SSE) version, and use the default settings--no configuration should be required. Version History / Details
This plug-in allows MediaMonkey to play files encoded in the MP3 Pro format which offers some improvements over standard MP3s. Note, however, that this plug-in is also used for standard MP3 playback--something you may not desire if you're using another MP3 plug-in. To install, close MediaMonkey, run the installer, and then copy the in_mp3PRO.dll from the Winamp Plugins directory to C:Program FilesMediaMonkeyPlugins . Restart MediaMonkey, and scan your drives for MP3Pro files. Version History / Details
ShnAmp is a Shorten codec for WinAmp and MediaMonkey created by Wayne Stielau for the etree.org community. Shorten was often used for live concert recordings, but has been superceded by other lossless formats. To install, close MediaMonkey, and copy to the plugins directory and overwrite the existing in_wave.dll plugin. Version History / Details
