Holy smokes! This is definitely NOT intuitive, but it is EXACTLY what bassdude was looking for and exactly what I was looking for. I have been seeking a replacement for rotten iTunes and believe that MM is just what I needed. But with a collection of about 150,000 tracks, I have a very extensive collection of playlists and nested playlists is a must! I see from the mediamonkeywiki wish list that this was supposed to be handled (at least partially) in MM2. But there is nothing in the Help and nothing in the FAQ.
What I find to be unintuitive about this method, as simple as it may be, is that you drop one playlist onto another. At least to me, it would seem that you would be able to add a "folder" (yes, it is what iTunes uses, but that doesn't automatically make the idea invalid or unworthy) and D&D (drag and drop) the playlists into the folder. After all, a folder is something that contains files. You don't drop files into files, and it is awkward thinking to drop playlists onto playlists instead of a container like a folder.
For the development team, I'd suggest that this process be listed in the FAQ and Help sections as soon as practical. I would also suggest that the process be revisited to reconsider using a folder or some other container instead of using a playlist to contain playlists. Frankly, I'm just glad that there is a way to nest the playlists some way, some how. It would just be nice (and more intuitive) to use containers like folders.
I'm looking forward to growing into the app.
Cheers.
