"bugs:
- currently the trackbrowser doesn't work properly with "script created nodes" and the album art views - this bug has already been fixed and should affect upcoming MM releases

feature additions:
- in a future release, MM3 will support changing the view mode via script.. at which point a new release of Filter Nodes will remember view modes for each filter node."

I just noticed this at the bottom of the scripts author's original post. I am assuming that this is where my error is occurring. I guess I will have to wait for the new MM release.
Oddly enough, I renamed my "artists" node to "albums" and they now stay in order. Albeit, not exactly the way I wanted it. Titles such as the "The Beatles" now fall under under T instead of B. They do finally stay in some sort of logical order though. And, if I click on the album/artist column, than everything goes back to the way that I originally wanted it.

My "soundtracks" and "compilations" nodes remain out of order though. I tried renaming them with several different combinations and it did no good. Guess I'll just wait on the release. Very buggy problem I am having.

Its not all compilations that are messed up. Its just that the compilations are messed up as well. I have my music organized into three nodes: Artists, Soundtracks, and Compilations.
The case with my compilations collection is the same as the tracks that are organized under the artist collection: MM is not saving my corrected track order as the default.

I noticed in the script thread you mentioned it was compilations that are always mixed up. Have you checked that all of the tracks in the album have the same album artist?

Yeah, but it IS being remembered. It is just not saving it as my default list. Like I said, when I click on the album/artist column everything goes back perfectly as I had it. This tells me that my corrections are saved somewhere but it has the previous uncorrected view as default. Also, it saves just fine in the album art view. Everything is perfectly ordered. I just can't figure out why it doesn't save it in the other views.

Anyway, thanks for your help. I left a message on the original scripts thread.

It does make sense - since these views wouldn't otherwise exist without the script - so unless the script is saving that information somewhere the sort order information would not be maintained anywhere and couldn't be remembered.

I will try that out, although it is hard to believe that the filters could be the cause because the vast majority of my library is properly sorted. It is only a handful of CD's that it picks out here and there. It also doesn't really make sense that after I click the album/artist column, that everything is sorted perfectly and it doesn't save that view. I will try it out in a bit.

Okay, perhaps you should temporarily disable the script to see if sorting works then. I've never used the script and sorting has always worked fine for me. Maybe you want to post to the scripts thread about what you are experiencing: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... er#p137279

I also saw this:
Daledesilva wrote:The keyword "Non-Albums" doesn't restrict the tracks, it simply makes the "default" sort order Artist then Title.
(restricting the tracks to only songs without albums can be done by including the criteria within your filter;
in the first post of the script's thread -- I don't necessarily understand what it means but it certainly sounds like it could relate to your problem.

I am using the "filter nodes" script.

Hmm... maybe the problem is due to the nodes that you're using. I notice from your screenshot it looks like you're using some kind of script to display custom nodes.. is that the case? Perhaps this is related to that script and not necessarily MM itself?

To answer your question specifically, I sorted them in the "art with details" view and when I close out it doesn't save my order. But, when I click on the album/artist column it sorts it perfectly the way I had it.

That's right, it's not saving my order. I already checked the task manager and MM closes out just fine.

My compilations sections is out of order in all three sections.

So I assume you mean you've sorted them in the details view, closed MM, and then when you start back up the sort order is lost?

Can you check after you close MM to see if the MM process is still running? (via task manager)

I really don't know. Have you tried just using the details view (not the art views at all) -- is at least the details view sort order saved when you close MM?

OK, check this out. I just noticed that in the "album art" it stays in perfect order. Only in the "list" and "album art with details" view is it jumbled. Whoever figures this one out gets a cookie!
