My music is to rare to be identified by common tagging softwares...*sniff*

The MusicIP tagger is definitely better than the other auto-taggers that come standard. It's still not quite as good as Winamp (database may be better in Winamp), but MM is better in a lot of other ways so I'm not reverting back yet. Thanks for the tip, LL.

Thanks, Lowlander. I'll give it a try. I was having trouble installing the autotag.dll from Winamp. Since it's an integrated plug-in, you can't find the installer any longer.

I know this is an old thread, but it's still relevant since MM can't batch auto-tag.

Has anyone tried using the auto-tag plug-in from Winamp inside MM? From what I understand, MM will use most/all Winamp plug-ins. The winamp auto-tag plug-in allows bulk tagging. It's somewhat slow, but you can configure it to tag the files only if it's 80% certain, 90% certain, etc. I like MM better than Winamp for most things, but the tagging feature in Winamp is far superior. I'll give it a try and report back.

cool, at 1k tracks every say 3 weeks i'll be all tagged by um, 2014 give or take a year or so...

luckily thanks to picard and mbz i'll be listening to the music instead for the next 5 years, the most issues with batch tagging tend to come from trying to tag years of mismanaged music , incorrect tags and crap downloads etc. if you are ripping from proper cd's you will find a far better 75% success rate, and you are free to add the albums in cases where they do not exist. keep tagging diligently , ima go for a drive and enjoy the day with some tunes.
Like I said, everything in my library is properly tagged, not to mention including synchronized lyrics (with Minilyrics).

If you're diligent you can get through 1000 tracks easily in a few weeks time with MM alone. Whatever. My music collection is fully tagged and whenever I add new music its easy enough to do some quick tagging with MM. But if you want to spend $20 on a product with a 25% failure rate, that's up to you.

I have tried them both, but 20% of the time the results you get are wrong. Its not worth the effort.

No, there isn't any way for MM to do that. In all honesty, there are other products which claim to be able to do that. I have tried several of them, but the results are always inconsistent and messy. You're better off taking a long time to tag it right the first time then to mess around with those auto-tagger programs.

yeah, this was my question, too.

I am a brand new user and somehow got the idea the mediamonkey zipped through your whole library and made sure each track had the right album, album art, year, etc.

maybe that was naive, but thats what the others made it sound like ("cleaned up my entire library in two minutes!", and stuff like that)

is there some way to have MM go through your whole library automatically?

im not complaining or anything, still looks like a great program.. but just want to be sure there is not an easier way before i start going through my library one by one.

thanks

And there is also no script, that does this job?

No, Auto-Tag from Web only works per album or selected tracks from the same album.
