yep that has happened to a lot of us before its just a file did not get installed proper on the first time most likely because of some program running in the background. when you over install the same version or the debug version monkey installs the bad file again and gets it correct then. if not that then he installed it so fast the first time the registry key did not get wrote, and the second install re wrote the registry key.

wish all the errors were that simple. 8)

Thanks, just got a reply on my ticket and they had me install the Debug version of MM and an error tracker but now after I installed them I cannot replicate the crash problem... LMAO!!

Almost like having an engine knock until you bring the car to a mechanic and it is fine. hahahaha

Maybe the install of the Debug version of MM over mine fixed it but I hope I find out before my next DJ gig.

thanks for the replies!

Carl

Yes--a debug log would be really helpful. Ideally, if you don't mind installing beta software, using the latest build of mm4.

Thanks.

I am having the same problem with MM crashing after 5-10 songs play.

If I click on different songs multiple times it will eventually crash as well.

This is a major problem for me since I bought the GOLD version to use this software during cocktail and dinner while I DJ.

Since the program keeps crashing it is completely worthless.

any fix help you recieved would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Sorry for not replying for a while - school and all kept me so busy D:

Anyways I installed the debug mode version, and it actually worked real great without crashing! Sadly, something was messed up with the ipod (touch) plugin. I think I was able to import music once before my entire music collection disappeared from the ipod. After that point, my computer stopped recognizing my ipod altogether so I had to do a hard reboot :S So back to the up-to-date version it was.

I'm using the most up to date version again, and it's continuing to crash still. It happens randomly but always when the song is ending/before changing a song. I'll look into version 4.

BTW I was sending error reports to MM throughout this whole process.

try using the latest version of mm 3. see if that works if you already are using that.
then try doing an over install and see if that will replace any missing or messed up files.

if still doing the crashing then uninstall mediamonkey 3 and download the mm 4 version which has some issues yet but is working fairly well on most peoples systems and better on win 7 then any other version of mm.

:D

What version of MediaMonkey are you using? You might want to send a debug log to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

MM crashing CONSTANTLY

by FloppySpatula » Fri May 06, 2011 7:52 am

Hey, MM. I've been a loyal user of MediaMonkey for years now. I can't think of switching to another media player.

Anyways, my old computer died, and unfortunately I lost my gold license on there (long story). Anyways, I'm not here to get the license back. When I got a new computer, I got one with Windows 7 Home Premium (old one used Vista Home Premium). I redownloaded MediaMonkey and I downloaded the last.fm plugin that MM released for scrobbling. I eventually uninstalled it.

But anyways, sometime between downloading the new version, installing that last.fm scrobbler plugin, and uninstalling it, my MM now crashes when it goes to the next song. It doesn't happen for every song, and it's not like every 5 songs this happens. Sometimes it can be between 2 song plays, other times it happens after about 30 song plays. This has happened the last 2 versions of MM. I've tried uninstalling MM altogether and reinstalling, but the problem persists. Any idea what I can do to try and fix this?
