Then I thanked to soon - but never mind. Not urgent now! ;-)

I spoke too soon, it's a short clip of the show, not the whole show.

@Lowlander:
At the moment I don't run any vodcasts, because I temporary use another computer with limited resources. But soon I will get a new pc and then will install them again, including DWDD. Thanks!

M4V as Nohitter151 indicated.

Oh, that COULD be the cause for the EenVandaag failure.
Have no clue what filetype it sends...
Will try to figure that out.
Thanks.

I am aware that MM3 doesnt support vodcasting as far as WATCHING them is concerned, but you can still download them and use an external videoplayer.

Only for filetypes that MM supports,eg. mp4 because sometimes those files are audio only, sometimes video. The files in the podcast here are .m4v, MM does not handle them at all in 3.x.

Problems with 1 (?) vod(pod)cast

Post by WimYogya » Sun Jul 03, 2011 1:49 pm

Back to MM3 after confusing experiences in MM4, including vodcast problems.
They seem to be solved now I am back in MM3, except for 1 Dutch tv program.
The URL http://feeds.feedburner.com/tros/LvEs
I used it before in MM4 and then it worked and not and worked and not.
Here in MM3 I cannot get it to work at all.
Strangely enough:
When I paste this URL in my browser, nothing happens. The page remains where it was.
I had that one time before with another vodcast URL.
So that would mean: has nothing to do with MM functions.

Especially the fact that it sometimes works and sometimes not puzzles me.
What can it be?

PS
I am aware that MM3 doesnt support vodcasting as far as WATCHING them is concerned, but you can still download them and use an external videoplayer.

Problems with Vodcasts SOLVED

Post by WimYogya » Sat Jul 02, 2011 9:23 am

@Lowlander
@others who have/had same problems that I had:

Problems solved - All vodcasts active!
Rebuilding my whole library from scratch I had to subscribe to my desired 4 podcast suppliers again. This time I did NOT click on any button on their respective supplier pages.
I just went to their page with the vodcast url, copied the url from the address bar and pasted it in the MM-Podcast subscription box.
Done!
Before, when I clicked on any ABONNEER NU = SUBSCRIBE NOW button, I got some XML-format in the MM box and then MM responded: Unknown protocol.

Nieuwsuur Vodcast: http://feeds.nieuwsuur.nl/uitzendingen

Dutch Podcast site (includes some Vodcasts): http://www.radiocast.nl/?sct=flt&flt=zender&id=9

@wangzp12:
There is still Nieuwsuur, previously called NOVA, which is now a coproduction between NOS & NTR.
But strangely enough 'brothers' of EenVandaag like Brandpunt, Uitgesproken EO, Uitgesproken WNL do not offer their productions as vodcasts - and they use the same copyright rules as EenVandaag & NOS News...
Same goes for DWDD, Pauw & Witteman, Kassa and other talkshow type of programs: no vodcast, only streams.
As I recommended to Lowlander already: those who want to watch Dutch & Flemish (public) tv should use free-to-air BVN-tv. You just need a satellite dish and decoder.
Details on www.bvn.tv - and not www.bvn.nl (sorry for misinforming you, Lowlander).

Yes, I can.
When clicking on http://feeds.feedburner.com/tros/LvEs for EenVandaag the browser opens that subscription window. When I click on View XML feeds there MM starts automatically, adds the url in the box and says: Unknown Protocol.
With the Jeugdjournaal URL http://feeds.nos.nl/vodcast_jeugdjournaal happens the same.
As said: the Jeugdjournaal one is new to me, but the Eenvandaag/Tros one was functioning well in iTunes for over a year.
I contacted both broadcasters already about this issue but as so often: no reply to my email.
So?

As to Dutch vodcasts: apart from what NOS News and EenVandaag offer I don't know any. Did check out a few other current affair programs, they do offer streaming video but often capturing/downloading/vodcasting not possible - often for copyright reasons, that is what I am told.

No, you misunderstand. Lowlander wants you to open the links in an internet browser, like firefox. That way you can see if you can connect to the URL at all.
