Make sure you have rights to write to the DB file. Try 4.0.3.1473: viewtopic.php?p=331246#p331246 and if it still happens send a debug log (step 4b) to support: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=341

Ok deleting the db made the application much more manageable now, I can at least play music without interruption.

However, there still seems to be a communication error between MM and my external hd. Which I've never had.

Upon launch of MM, I still get the original SQL database error from the first post of this thread. It happens when I try to edit the ID3 details, as well. Most annoying is the sync from my external library is not saved within MM, so every time I launch MM, the program has to rescan my entire library as if it were new. But these were always issues from the beginning.

Even the desktop shortcut icon is now broken.

Yes, you can delete both (or move somewhere as backup just in case you need it later).

ya know, Lowlander, I was just about to come in here and explain about all the times I tried to search my MM folder for the corrupt database (cuz I have about 5 times, could never locate the file even with hidden files shown)......

but then I just installed gold a few days ago, i realize now that I haven't tried to locate since the re-installation....

The MM.DB file is now there.

Also with a MM.DB.Pre31 ...... should I delete this too?

I hope so cuz I am gonna delete the shit out of these files. can't wait!

But did you follow any of the suggestions to try to delete the database as that is what is needed?

Because I had just uninstalled MM, then bought gold, re-installed, I got a new error message at the launch saying something about a K: drive.

i don't even have K

Dear Guys,

Look. I just got a new job. And it's been demanding. I can't live without MediaMonkey and this thing is driving me crazy, I haven't the time to troubleshoot it.

I just bought the $50 gold version.

Isn't there some tech support that can logmein to my desktop or....?

I'm sure it wouldn't take more than a few minutes as MM has always worked flawlessly on my thingy thing.

Not necessarily. The files would be in the "Portable" folder under the "MediaMonkey" folder which he/she could have installed anywhere, not necessarily the root C: drive.

Note to self - don't try to answer forum questions late at night
I had a brain f#rt

You can contact Tech Support here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... &_a=submit

I suggest you start by sending a debug log (step 4b) if you want to contact them: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

I would suggest to do a search on MM.DB on your PC and make sure hidden and Operating System Protected files are searched as well. This should find the MM.DB use (multiple should be found). Along with date modified you should be able to see which is the currently used one.

Thanks guys.

Nothing's worked. MediaMonkey literally went from working perfectly to barely usuable with the 4.0 update.

Is there any direct tech support that could "log me in" to my pc or something?

Also, oddly, in my Local/AppData folder, even after toggling on 'show hidden files' I couldn't see a MediaMonkey folder to try the devs suggestion and edit the .ini or DB files. Nor was anything in my Roaming folder.

NOTE: If you cannot see these files, it likely means that you need to enable viewing of hidden files/folders. In Windows explorer, go to Tools > Folder options. Select the View tab and check "Show hidden files and folders". The folders and files listed should now be accessible.
