Gotta say that I'm not sure what to think of it. Opera didn't wind up there. Nor did Chamber Music from Mozart or Baroque from CPE Bach.
Most people would call those things "classical music", which just drives home that "classical" is a pretty imprecise term in the way that it's normally used.
I don't think I want to have nodes for every genre. I'll have to think about this.

Thanks for the tip though!

Gary

There are not nodes for every genre. Classical has it's own because it's much different from "Regular" music, in terms of which meta data you would probably want displayed. Anyway, you can just change the "Type" field from Classical to Music if you prefer. (Right click > Properties on the tracks in question, change "type" field.)

Which node did you check, maybe it's under Classical?

Flac files import but are not visible

I ripped Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols but it doesn't appear in the Media Tree. If I navigate to the folder and the files in Windows Explorer, MM plays the files just fine.
I also tried ripping with foobar and rescanning. MM says it has imported the right number of files but again, nothing appears in the tree.

At first I thought it might be because of the awful naming from freedb. So I ripped using the artist name "A", the album name "B" and the track names "1,2,3,...", winding up with a structure driveletter:\A\B\1.flac .... and so on. Can't get much shorter than that. It didn't help though.

I also created a Benjamin Britten folder, then a folder called Test (to mimic an album name) and copied a flac from another artist into the Test folder. A rescan imported that file and Benjamin Britten appeared in my tree. But when I copied my real Britten rip into that Benjamin Britten folder and rescanned, the BB folder disappeared from the tree. It seems to be something about the flac files themselves.

If I delete the files and then rescan, MM shows the dialog about files that are in the database but no longer found in the place MM thinks they should be in and offers the different options for deletion from the db.

This is also happening for another CD of Britten's work and one from Rene Clemencic.

Has anyone seen this behavior before? Any ideas about what could be going wrong?
