You're right nohitts, in that it is not required. But it does make for a much better presentation than
the "details pane" (minimalistic and not practical to maximize). Also, it has a great tool bar button that allows you to use
other things in the exact same space, like the tree. I use it and it still seems to work great in 4.1.7.1739.

Thanks,
This post: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 05#p338328

says it works fine in MM4. But I still wonder why this addon would be required at all when you can show the same information in MM's art + details panel.

I think it is I've not seen any one else complain about it.

For me, the most efficient way to do what you want is to use the main columns and now playing windows. The players are meant for playing, not editing. My belief is that there is no easy way to edit, it takes time to do it right.

Good luck.

Thanks again RC,
I'll look forward to trying them when next with a few hours to spare :-)

Yep and the others did the scripts for mm just as fast or faster there been tons of things made for mm over the yrs,
Well you can use any of the skins i made the sizes i listed are the suggested best viewing range of screen resilutions, meaning those are what i was comfortible reading the words at on the players, or getting the best fit for all the defaultly included windows all on the screen.

So best one i guess if you dont want to change youre screen size would be the esthic hifi blue one it has fonts you should be able to see but my skins are not the only ones back up one page at the wiki and you will get the list of others to try, go to the skins page here at the forums site and you get mm 4 skins, my dj cocomarantz skin is only one i adjusted for use on mm4.

For fun you might like the concert skin theres some easter eggs in that skin 1. The head of incridable hulk, 2. The batmans head. 3, a ufo. All in the stage lightining if you get the lights to flash in correct order and speed you can see all 3 of those. Mind you though i didnt use the normal looking buttons on lots of the skins, so read where they are in the descriptions i wrote,

WOW! You did all that!

My 24" screen is 1600x1200 pixels
Does that help you direct me to one or two that I should try?

Jim

Only skin i know of with all the custom fields shown in the player and lots of other items is my startreking monkey skin but its a verticl skin and has to have the player moved in to the right or left dock and used with propper sized screen res, and the fields are still small, there is only so much you can do with the skin as it has to be useful on various monitors i did some that had part of the custom fields on but i think that is only one with all of them in the title scroll.
You can check the wiki skins pages to see if any others were made with them for mm3. Mm3 skins are to work with mm4. I think the page of my skins i have in my signature also has a link to my wiki skin page? And you can see screen shots there and get info about the skins there,

It does have a link to the wiki skin pages at the bottom of the first post.

Here is a direct link to see my skins at the wiki page.

I was hoping that someone had made an attempt to make a PLAYER window that displayed many of the fields, easily edited, for the currently playing file.

Any chance?

Any skin does this as its just part of mm.

In the listview area you right click on the top header of the column any column and then you get a scrolling list of all the tags and you pick which ones you want in the list view.

You change or edit the data of any field for any song or video file in the listview by double clicking the field for that tag in the song / videos row.

Hello again!

I am hoping that there is a skin that displays lots of fields and allows them to be edited as songs are playing?

This way empty fields (and errors) could be immediately fixed and best of all those subjective fields like
Tempo, Mood, Occassion and Rating could be eye-balled evrytime the music was playing;
Helping to get the auto-playlists better everytime.

Thanks,

Jim
