As always, thank you! THis should do exactly what I want. This way I can keep the actual library as clean and organized as possible. :-)

Am I importing music the hard way? Is there auto import?

Hi all,

Finally setting up MM "for reals", setting it up to put my music in one location, and set up my devices to sync from that. Currently, I have all of my music on a NAS device, and that's where I want it to reside. The way I currently import my music is that I rip it or download it, copy it from another folder, whatever, I create a folder for the Album artist if one does exist, copy/paste it into the NAS location, THEN do the Add/Rescan and have it find the new music.

What I'm wondering is if I can have it add music to MM automatically, but copy it to my location. For example, I have a 'New Music' folder on my actual computer where I dump the music I want, and MM will add it to the NAS, copying it into my library automatically, possibly even deleting the original after it has successfully copied it. In printing, we call this a 'Hot Folder', when our RIP software or our cutter sees something in this folder, it processes it automatically. I'm just curious if MM has that feature and I'm doing things the hard way. I know that there is a boatload of functionality that I'm missing with MM, and I'm slowly dialing it in. Ongoing thanks to EVERYONE who has helped me so far!
