Right click the MediaMonkey Tray icon. Otherwise it depends on the Skin if and how a Volume Slider is included.

Problem solved.
Finally found volume slider in utmost right lower corner (thanks to someone else with the same issue).
Impossible to see with the black background and a 1920 x 1080, 14" screen.

BINGO. Thanks. I failed to notice that my volume slider in the lower right hand corner of MM 3.0.3 was slid to the bottom. Funny how I kept missing the obvious. Well, I learned a lot about scripts, plugins and Windows Media Player.

I copied that file to my 3.0,3 Plugins directory. When I open MM 3.0.3 and go to the \Tools\Options\Player\Output Plug-ins, the file does appear there. However, I still do not get sound from MM 3.0.3. Is there something in the configuration for that file I should know? Should I copy an input file for MP3 files? Which one should I copy?

I like that last suggestion. I happen to have a directory of my old MM 2.55 plugins preserved in a Norton Ghost C Drive backup before I upgraded MM from 2.55 to 3.03. Which of the following files should I copy from the old MM 2.55 plugins to the MM 3.0.3 plugin directory:

A couple of suggestions:

1. If you recently performed an upgrade to your audio drivers, you may need to re-register them in MediaMonkey. In MediaMonkey, right-click on the Player and select 'Configure Current output plugin'. In the sound card list select your audio card drivers again. Accept the changes and restart MM.

2. Try reconfiguring the directsound output plugin. Go to Tools | Options | Player | Output Plug-ins, select the DirectSound plugin and click Configure. On the device tab, try either:
o Disabling hardware acceleration
o Switching from 'Primary Sound Driver' to another device.

3. Try a number of alternative output plugins:
o SQRSoft: http://www.sqrsoft.com.ar/en/index.html
o Kernel Streaming: http://www.stevemonks.com/ksplugin/
o ASIO: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=61

4. If the sound problems are specific to particular audio formats, it's likely a problem with the input plugin:

Thanks, I did that but I still don't get sound from MM 3.0.3.1183. However, I get perfect sound from Windows Media Player 11. I tried to re-install MM over my orignal installation and did uninstall those two scripts. Nothing helped.

However, WMP recognizes all changes I make to my files in MM 3.0.3. Thus, I play the songs using WMP and use MM to manage my library.

Maybe some future MM upgrade will address this sound output driver problem. Otherwise, this work around allows me to hear and manage my music library. For Library Management MM 3.0.3 is much better than MM 2.55.

I've been using Media Monkey Version 3.0.3.1183 now for a couple of weeks with MediaMonkey DirectSound Output. It suddenly stopped producing sound today. I have the Lifetime Gold Subscription. I also use Windows XP SP2.

However, I was able to get sound with waveOut output v2.0.2a for awhile and then it also stopped producing sound.

I can still get sound from Internet sites and Windows Media Player 11.0.5721.5230 still works fine.

Why did MediaMonky DirectSound Output stop working?

Funny, after using the waveOut output for a few minutes I switched back to MediaMonkey DirectSound and it worked fine. Then both output drivers stopped working. Until this problem is solved, I will have to MM 3.03.1183 just to organize my sound collection and use Windows Media Player to play them. Its too bad that I will now have to construct new playlists in WMP without the features of MM 3.03.1183.

Now neither of the two MM output drivers work. I cannot get sound from MediaMonkey anymore. What now?

I had recently installed two scripts: Bookmarker12.mmip and Lyrics and Comments Viewer 1.3.1. How can I UNINSTALL them? I suspect either or both may be related to my problem.
