Make the files read-only and MediaMonkey can't edit them in any way.

As for the date, this is for compatibility with other software/hardware, but is user configurable: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/ind ... year--date

How to absolutely prohibit MM from ever changing my tags without my knowledge?

Hi, so today I downloaded MM and started to struggle to try and learn how to use it.
I'm a total new user.
My motivation to download MM and start using it was to be able to use the automatic tag searches
that use the Discogs and MusicBrainz databases, for which I installed the add-on.

I did a few manual searches for some of the possibly rare tracks that I was never able to tag using
MusicBrainz and FreeDb directly. I was able to populate about a dozen such files, they must be non-album
or artisanal tracks.

However, to my shock, I learned after a while that this MM pest changed 240 of my tracks, by duplicating
the Year tag, leaving me fuming, as I absolutely loathe duplicate tags (say, two entries for the year, one is year only, the other is the full date.) Not just the fact it duplicated the tags, but the fact I have no idea why it did that or what I did for it to do that.

My question is, how the heck did this happen, what might have I done that MM had this awful idea of messing
with my tags? Was it the auto-tag button in the Discogs add-on window? I found it a very strange caption for
the sake of just populating the tags with the results found in the Discogs search.

How can I kill all imaginable possibilities of MM ever changing my tags against my will or my knowledge?
Needless to say I'm deeply angry about this, MM is supposed to help us organize things, not make them messier.
