This isn't really a photo-managing tool...
I use this too and it not really a photo manager.

Best conversion / quick editor out there though.

ACDSee might come closest, especially for database functions and auto-organization of files/folders.

I don't personally use a photo manager but I know that photo gallery apps that come with digital cameras or scanners can be very heavyweight and unreliable.

The ones I have tried so fare are: HP ImageZone and Canon ZoomBrowser EX and both are very crashy.

I have used Picasa in the past and have found it very good.

in the last week or two i have seen some program on
http://www.majorgeeks.com that calls it self a photo manager,

and does the same sort of thing media monkey does with music.
but only works in the photo area.

went and found the link to what i was thinking of
i don't know if you want something like this.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/JetPhoto_Studio_d5585.html

if not then you might like the " Paw Browser " if you can find it on major geeks.

Not sure if it's exactly what your looking for but J River Media Center can import images (music & videos too) and you can enter information about that, "tag" them essential. I think it even writes the "Tag" to the images somehow.

Though, it's not free :\

First to say i love MM and wish i discovered it *before* itunes/wmp wrecked up my carefully maintained folder structure. Does anyone have a suggestion for a photomanager with the same quality? (Maybe an idea for an MM expansion?) Tanks in advance!
