To clarify, iTouch and iPhone introduces Authentication mechanism that needs to be done by iTunes and authorize usage of iPhone/iTouch on that PC by either MM, iTunes or any other app that wish to access it.

yup. iTunes loads the drivers that the PC and MediaMonkey need.

No, I uninstalled it from the PC, and am using it sole on my Mac. Is that the problem? Itunes needs to be installed for MediaMonkey to sync with it?

Is iTunes installed on the PC?

MM not detecting iPod Touch

Two weeks ago I plugged my iPod Touch in to sync with MM like I have been for awhile, but when I woke up in the morning I found that there was nothing on the iPod. Nothing. No songs, no podcasts. Nothing. MM had synced all the metadata from the tracks that were on it, erased everything from the iPod, but didn't replace it.

Then the iPod crashed, and I had to restore it using iTunes on my Mac.

Every since I cannot get MM to detect the iPod when I have it plugged in. The OS detects it, but MM does not.

Using MM 3.1.0.1236
