In MM 2.5.2 it will be possible to use <Playlist> and <Auto Number> mask fields that would do exactly what you need. You can already test the 2.5.2 beta in Beta forum here.

Hey there.

I'm loving the monkey but one more feature would make it *perfect*. That would be to, when exporting files from a playlist to a portable device without .m3u playlist support, to be able to include the playlist track number (as opposed to the album track number) to the front of the exported filename so the playlist plays back in order on the device.

Maybe there's already a way to do this, but I can't find it.
