Over a year later and the native MM scrobbler still doesn't work for me. It randomly scrobbles some songs, and doesn't others. They still show up as "listening now" in my profile but don't get scrobbled once they're finished. Both MM and the scrobbler are the latest version and the log always shows "Submit OK" even though it didn't submit at all.
I have been using the Winamp plugin instead but that one doesn't seem to support Unicode...@.@

Ok well I deleted any stray lastFM dll's and reinstalled with the .mmip ... general plugins now shows 'gen_LastFMScrobbler.dll' but still - no options :/

Upgrade to MediaMonkey 4.1 beta from the Beta forum and disable Update Play Counter in the Media Server options in MediaMonkey. This will also stop last.fm scrobbling for the Media Server.

thanks for this awesome plugin.
I set up a media server with MM 4, so my family can access my library. Problem is that all the songs they listen to (by streaming) also get scrobbled. Of course I don't want their songs in my last.fm profile. Is there a way to ignore these songs?
I tried scrobbling with "gen_wa2_scrobbler.dll", which ignores the streamed songs. But I have mostly asian music, so unicode support is a must.

Let me make things more clear.
- There is communication with MMW and Last.Fm devs
- MMW is propitiatory Software
- Each Plugin that is distributed/listed with Last.fm software needs to be supplied in sources to Last.fm and only then they will add it to list.
- If no sources are supplied than Developers of software needs to manage plugin functionality.
- Official MMW Plugin uses 1.2.1 API instead of 2.0 due the some licensing issues.
- We do not have insights on Server part Logs which can show us why there is some occasional issues in Scrobbling

Noting this, we can only do fixes based on user debugs and only known issue is that plugin do not work well in Portable mode.

Tools > Options > Last.fm service can't be missing if plugin is correctly installed, existence of plugin in General plugins means that plugin is not uninstalled correctly and needs to be manually deleted.

That's what I'm missing .. I get no 'last fm service' in the options! Though the plugin shows up in 'general plugins'

Which you then need to configure with at least your account under Tools > Options > Last.fm service.

No you don't use the scrobbler from last.fm. Just the MediaMonkey addon at:
