Hi, there! I came across your script and I think it's in the direction of that I'm currently trying to do:

http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =4&t=76356

Would this script be able to handle such a thing? If not, how difficult would it be to implement a feature where I could right-click an M3U URL from within MM (or perhaps even via a Chrome extension) and have it download all of the files into folder: <Album Name> and auto-organized as <Track#> - <TItle>?

Right now, I'm going through a fairly tedious process in order to accomplish this within MM, but it IS being accomplished.

I would appreciate any advice or ideas!

Thank you for this script.
Not only does it help me with importing a playlist, but it also introduces me to the MM scripting.

Thanks for this script. I've sent a donation.

A feature suggestion: accept a folder tree and for each folder therein, create a containing playlist.

interesting. I had to go in and modify the m3u file and remove the full path. Then it works. (for the test records) I would imagine this could possibly hit duplicates if a song was name the same but in two different album directories. i.e. i see a few that just say TRACK 08

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if I uncheck the ignore punctuation in filename, it recognizes about 350 out of 700 songs.

I just created a excel spreadsheet and will re-add them to the play list manually. My guess is that it is probably getting messed up with the names of the files.

M:\Music_Etc\Music\Music\Metallica - Metallica\06 Metallica - Don't Tread on Me.mp3 - found this

M:\Music_Etc\Music\Music\Iced Earth - Dark Saga\04 Iced Earth - The Hunter.mp3 - didn't find this

The format of the directory looks the same.

Anyway, thanks for trying.

Select all songs on the Playlist on the computer go to the file menu and click on find missing songs.

by BradBain01 » Mon Aug 18, 2014 12:28 pm

I messed up and deleted my playlist pointing to my hard drive. I have a copy on my mp3 player and I copied it to the harddrive, but now it is looking at my mp3 player as the source of the music. I read something about an add-on, but don't know what to do or how to get this addon that might first this problem and let it resynch with my harddrive. Please HELP!!!!!!!!!

If the paths are absolutely correct, why are you asking it to ignore punctuation? If you ask it to ignore punctuation then there is a bit of fuzzy matching, so that it can match with tracks that do and don't have similar punctuation. Any kind of fuzzy matching can bring back multiple results.

Hello

I have tried to import a m3u with this Script, the paths and file names in the playlist are absolutely correct and point to the appropriate files but when I activate the option "ignore punctuation in the file name?" then I have some duplicate entries in the imported MM playlist. Is there any solution for my problem?

The new version (3.8.) of this script is available to download from my website. Changes include...

- Fixed WriteLock/ReadLock errors
- Fixed fuzzy matching of filenames
- Added additional debug messaging

The tracks are all added to the playlist right at the end now, which will hopefully fix the locking problems.

I've created a new version of the script that attempts to build the playlist after looping through the tracks, instead of building it up as it goes along - hopefully this will fix the WriteLock/ReadLock errors.

However, I think I've found a bug in MM or SQLite, which is preventing the script from working, and therefore preventing me from releasing the new version...

What is your email? I will send the file that way, since these file hosts links delete more frequently than we can reconnect in the forum
