I have learned, that i have to restore the artist option . :-)
The option to fill the Disc and Track# fields are now behind the "Tagging Options" button. Should i transfer it back or elsewhere?

Please report more of your opinions about new features or hidden Options. I always try to make the Discogs Tagger better, but i need your Response ;-)

Well, I can only give you my opinion based on my personal use. I almost never tag disc and track #, since most of the time I have those fixed before tagging with discogs. But sometimes I need to do it via discogs and in those cases the checkboxes are handy, where I can quickly turn them on or off.
For artist, it's almost the same. I usually have it on the whole time, but many times I turn it off so the tagger doesn't place all those "feat. xx" in that tag.

So in my case, I prefer ease of use rather than clarity.

Maybe an option could be some sort of help button that explains what things do? That would explain things to new users and still keep things functional for older ones.
You can either place a full div over everything with text explaining everything at once, or place small (?) icons that show tooltips explaining particular objects.

For some reason, there is no "Artist", only "Album artist"

Thats right. You see the Artist in the list on the right side.
I removed the Artist on the left side, New user could be confused, i thought. :)

You can see it, but, if I remember correctly - I've reinstalled 5.54, and will probably stick with it to infinity :-) - you can't use it to update the Artist tag.

DJSamhein wrote:This change doesn't seem to be a good one. With it, there's no option to have discogs fill in the artist field, if we wanted, but worst of all, there's no way to fill in disc or track # (maybe because I had these option off by default?).
I personally liked the old system: you can select if you want to update these fields or not. I agree that the overall design might be a little confusing and could use some change, but removing these options aren't the way to go, in my opinion.

Please Start MM normal and install the addon again. Do you see the Musicbrainz Tagger?

You wrote that tagging works OK, but you get a series of Scripting Errors. So the Discogs Tagger wrote the tags, but you get after that the errors?
Please send me the file c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\mediamonkey\scripts\discogs_script.log to Sven(at)germanc64.de, thank you !

Hi,

did you used MediaMonkey and Discogs Tagger without error before? Which Windows Version you use ? Is your Computer new or have you reinstalled it ?

Disable Track# in Discogs.

Auto tag from web ignores track ids and changes order!

Hello,

I have been trying to update the info of mp3 files that have filenames like this "01. Track 1.mp3" and track number set as "01,02, etc".
The album info is provided and found on the discog DB. The problem is that the matching of the tracks is short of random.. Track 01 is changed to 22, 10 -> 02, 18 -> 09, etc with no way to fix it, just cancel it..
