Hi,

Have noticed that Lyricator no longer seems to be able to use Genius for getting lyrics; whenever one searches for lyrics it gets skipped immediately. I've not changed anything about my install/setup in the last couple of months, so I'm not entirely sure why this would have suddenly started happening (although at a guess I'd say maybe something on Genius' end has changed perhaps?)

I hope you don't mind me submitting issues I've been finding. I switched to Letras as they seem more comprehensive and I noticed they don't link parenthesis. After testing the URL call directly in my browser, I edited the script locally, stripping these out, and it worked for the 600+ songs that were not previously found.
Thanks for posting. Enabling the setting "Remove Within Parenthesis" for artist and title should fix that for you on Letras. If that doesn't work for you, please let me know.

Yeah, I was able to make the change to the lyricator.js file, I just wanted to give you a heads up.

Thanks for this extension...it is awesome and truly a time-saver. One thing I noticed is that SongColeta (my primary go-to site) strips single quotes. However, whenever there is a quote in the title, the lyrics are not found. I noticed in the configuration for Lyricator there is an option "Ignore Single/Double Quotes" but this does not appear to do anything. For example, Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" finds no lyrics regardless of whether "Ignore Single/Double Quotes" is checked or not. However, if I remove the single quote and rerun Lyricator, the lyrics are found.
That is a pretty easy fix at the SongColeta lyrics handling level. Trouble shooting the ignore quotes could take more time. I'll try to get a patch out this weekend.

Thanks, it worked. Removed old Lyricator files after I uninstalled it yesterday, Dowloaded the old Lyricator 1.3.2.1 from the MM Add Ons page and updated succesfully to Lyricator v1.5.0. Took me 2-3 re-clicks for it to start working properly (clicking Lyricator button again, and after that the first seach had no results, 3rd try after closing and opening again it worked) but after that no hickups. It's a shame this "clicking Lyricator button again" error fix is needed, hopefully that can be fixed. It re-appeared after closing and re-opening MM. But for the rest great to have this working again. Last time I installed it was 7 years ago :)
I'll have to get in touch with someone to get the old add-ons on this site updated. It has been available from happymonkeying.com for many years now. I'll see what I can do. You may still run into random issues because you upgraded from that old of version. If you do, uninstall, clean up files, download and install from http://www.happymonkeying.com/plugin.php?q=300091. You still have to restart the app after installs and updates.

hi, the download link isnt working for me, where can I obtain the Lyricator v1.5.0 ?
You can always update to the latest version using the tools>extensions menu. Click Lyricator and Find Updates. If an update is found, click Install Update.

I finally have had some time to finish some work I have been doing for a while. I have released a new version that should be much faster, find more lyrics, and fix some issues that lyrics sites were having with characters in the artist or title. I have also fixed an issue that was reported regarding accented characters. Enjoy!

so i noticed a bug. the plugin cant find lyric to song with accents `´ at least with those. i had some songs like "Já estive aqui" and cannot find lyric on genius, but the rest of album songs it found. so i replaced de "já" for "ja" and it got the lyric. but it a bit annoying had to replace all and after rename again. hope you can fix this bug!! :D :D great work, i love the extension
Thanks for the report. I will add that to my list. I am working on an update that should be faster and more reliable with characters like this. Not sure when it will be done, but it's coming.

Hope I'm not covering old ground here, but I'm having a lot of trouble getting Lyricator to work consistently. I'm running the latest version of MM4 (4.1.25.1886) on Windows 10, although the problem also affected earlier versions. The Lyricator installation goes fine, and I'm using the current version (1.4.4.1).

I select all the tracks on a single album, right-click, and pick 'Scripts' followed by 'All configured sites'. The Lyricator dialog pops up, and a spinning circle appears in the upper-left corner. This happens about 90% of the time. Nothing else happens, no matter how long I wait. But every once in a while (the other 10%), I do exactly the same steps and it works perfectly. This seems to be totally random - I can't find any pattern to it occasionally working properly. (But when it does work, it's very fast and gives great results!)

This is driving me nuts: I've tried uninstalling Lyricator, exiting MM, and then re-installing... no improvement. When Lyricator hangs, I've tried exiting and restarting MM, but again, no improvement. Any ideas what causes it to hang most of the time, while still working occasionally? Thanks for any thoughts!

Essentially this sounds like there are Lyricator configurations in multiple places and when the wrong one loads first it gives you this issue. You will need to uninstall, clean up all the configuration files of Lyricator settings and then re-install. I still haven't figured out how or when this happens but it may be that Lyricator was installed in two different modes (for all users, for one user, portable) at different points in time.
