not that i'm aware of. not even my work around use for the old msagent's djamp program works in mm 3 so it don't work in mm 4 either.
not sure how we can go about getting one to work there are a few talking programs out there that use the agent voices but they don't do real good on win 7 anymore some do for use with the mash scripts for agents but trying to make them do things, that they were not created to do is hard.

shame too i miss my dj too. of course the old msagents djamp program still works with winamp. as it wa made for winamp
but i don't like winamp so i'm not using it. if you want to use winamp with it then i still have instructions on my websites download page not my media download page on my main sites page is where its at...
just ignore the instructions to get the program to work in mm, unless you have mm 2 or want to see if you can get it working in mm 3 or 4. http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/rovingcowb ... tents.html and click on the image of the forklift.
oh sorry for the pop up windows. its what happens with free web sites.

Is there a new script that works with MM4 that replicates the Radio Announcer function in this one?

BTW, why this script don't have a wiki or FAQ? it can be hosted for free on google code or sourceforge...

BTW THIS SCRIPT IS NOT IN DEVELOPMENT ANYMORE IF YOU LOOKED IN THE THREAD PAGES YOU SEE IT IS NOT FOR
ANY VERSION OF MM 3 ONLY MM 2 AND THAT IT IS NOT BEING FIXED BY DIDDELEEDOO ANYMORE. YOU SHOULD USE BIG BERNYS.

you need to check the last 5 messages of mine in this thread and this message.

diddeleedoo's script is for mediamonkey 3.0 not any newer 3.1 or and newer 3.2 as the script in 3.1 and 3.2 has changed.

his script no longer works in mediamonkey for rating. he does not have mm 3.2 and is not using mm 3.0 on his system he never updated from mm 2.5.988. he has no idea of how to code for mm 3.2 and is not wanting to learn now because he is now doing more codes for his job. and has no time for fun anymore.

you are in need of getting big berny's auto rating script and using it for mm 3.2 as he has updated it to work with mm 3.2

keep this one if you want the announcer just turn off all its options to change ratings. if you can?? :-?

Hi,

I searched the thread quickly, but could notsee anyone that had posted the same issue, basically i cannot get the rating system to work, radio annoncer works fine so i am sure that it has installed correctly. I am running MM 3.2 on vista, i get this error message (i guess just after the script tried to do some sort of rating)

There was a problem querying the database:
Error excuting SQL "SelectMax(IdPlay) From Played Where IdSong=2256
" : no such column: IdPlay (1, 1)

[cancel][retry][ignore] after pressing any but retry i get another error

Error #-2147418113-
File: "C:\Program Files\... \AutoRateSongs.vbs", Line: 140, Column: 8

This music library was ripped through iTunes before i converted, any ideas?

Thanks

@paulmt's:

Since reading you last post, I decided to do some tests and observations.
I am currently using a relatively new device called MiFi, which is basically an internet access dongle connected via USB that can also give out a Wifi signal for other devices to connect.
Obviously when I us MM and need to update the song details from the internet, this MiFi device is connected. I think the conflict is between these two things.
Recently a windows message came up in my task bar saying that a problem has occurred with a USB connected device. I couldn't get to the message because MM made my mouse freeze 2 minutes since running MM.

Things connected via USB at the moment are:
Mifi Dongle
Pen drive
Ipod cable minus ipod
Portable hard drive (500Gb)
My mouse and key board are connected using the Ps2 port ?????
But somehow the keyboard still works whilst the mouse freezes.
Since USB is the common feature here, i will check it out.

@roveringcowboy:

In the task manager MM started at about 41,000k. After it froze, it quickly rose to 300,000k by which time I turned it off because I didn't want my PC to crash.
Only one instance of MM was running, no internet explorer.
However MM did warn me that it was running background process when I tried to turn it off.
I was pretty sure I had removed the ipod and iphone dll files but I just checked and they are in the plug-in folder. Must have been when I reinstalled MM. Now they are deleted I will do further tests.
I will try this mzultimate software you mentioned then get back to you on the results.
Thanks

paulmt's right on this
its not the script that caused it monkey will have trouble with some dll files on some systems you still having trouble with the can't close might be from the iphone dll not being needed in your system and you did not remove it.

and if you do use the iphone dll file then i suggest finding a tweaking program for your operation system.
make sure that tweaking program has an option to end hung programs. when they get hung not at reboot.
one that does that was mzultimate he seems to have updated that one to work with windows 7 but check the info out for that before you get it and make sure its for your operating system.

other thing about double loading of monkey. i believe is caused by ie 8. it double loads the full ie exe every time you use tabs in it. so when looking where paulmt told you too in the task manager you will see iexplorer.exe listed for as many tabs as you had opened with it if you still have ie open when you look at the manager.
that might be causing trouble with the windows shell since both monkey and ie use the windows shell. and they have a brower in mediamonkey. that could be listing as another tab and making monkey look like a browser to the shell.
if that is the case then the tweak program to close hung apps. is going to be the only thing to close that second version of monkey. until rusty or one of the others finds a way to get monkey to close the second instance of the browser it opens. and that might be in the mm 4 version before they get that fixed.
8)

but to all that use mediamonkey 2.5 it is not made to run on windows 7.
it might work there. but scripts made for mm 2.5 will not because microsoft has changed the scripting and mediamonkey has changed the scripting. so all mm 2.5 scripts will only work with mm 2.5 and xp. or vista.
if you want to use scripts on windows 7 you need to upgrade to mediamonkey 3.2 and big berny's auto rating script.

last i heard from diddeleedoo was about 3 weeks ago in this forum he stopped by to check out the place, he told me he has no time to do any updates for his scripts and he still only uses mm 2.5 so he can't even update to mm 3 scripts. he was talking about another one of his scripts and said if anyone wanted to update it he did not mind them doing so just give him credit for the first version. because he is now on dial up only and in a very lacking place for internet connections. even though it was about another script i don't think he would mind if any one wanted to update this script either.

:D

I played one song tonight then stopped it and tryed to close MM. A message appeared saying there were back ground process going on with MM; so i left it running still. (isnt't there usually a progress bar at the bottom informing us about this?)
Tried closing MM after 5 minutes but the same message appeared. After leaving it for a futher 20 minutes a warning message came up 4 times over lapping eachother, with the songs name in the title, saying 'THEARD CREATION ERROR: NOT ENOUGH STORAGE IS AVAIlABLE TO PROCESS THE COMMAND'
I cannot understand this condisering i have 1Tb of hard disk space and running 6Gb of RAM.
sorry if this may be going off topic but, my MM was fine before the Autorate script.
It can't be the autorate script causing this issue if you have removed the files I said and restarted MM.
It must be something else, perhaps you are scanning your library on startup?
If you go to task manager (CTR-ALT-DELETE) and check the process running is there more than one instance of MM running?

Kmunki wrote: I just want the files gone and MM to work as it should.
Thanks in advance.
Go to your mediamonkey folder, usually c:\program files or c:\program files (x86) and then to the scripts sub folder
in this folder delete "RadioAnnouncer.vbs"
then go to the scripts\auto folder and delete "AutoRateSongs.vbs" and "AutoRateSongsOptionSheet.vbs"

This should be it. Restart MM
