Dedors,

I just posted this elsewhere, but if you're looking to have MM launch as soon as the headset is plugged in, you can use:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ugin&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ones&hl=en

Or the following which give a bit more automation functionality:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ware&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... sker&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... lper&hl=en

RC,

MMA is only associated to non-streaming music/video for now--that's why it doesn't crop up for e.g. youtube.

i don't use head set rusty. i just don't have the icon in the menu to pick it to play videos with.
every time i click a video url to go to youtube it won't give me any choice but youtube or browser. it has no more in the list and won't scroll to show any more.

It's a integrated setting under Device/More.. from my custom rom (PAC 3.99 on Note2). I assumed it just fetches a list of apps registered globally for music (vs only file extensions).
I'm sorry that I did not test enough. After test installing some other music players, most of them behave the same, so it's something from the ROM side.

I found an app that does what i want and where I can select any app to launch.

As far as I can see, MMA _is_ in the list of apps associated with Music (or Video) (tested build 189). e.g.:
Run ES Explorer
Click mp3 file
--> Select app dialog appears, and MediaMonkey is included in the list of available apps

Is that usecase working for you?

If the problem is with another usecase, then please provide more specifics. e.g.
- Dedors: what application is detecting that a headset has been plugged in, and how does it determine its list of apps?
- rovingcowboy: does the motorola headset use a custom app to choose music/video player?

Note: I also tested with Sony's Smart Connect, and it works correctly (even on non-Sony phones) to detect a headset being plugged in, and launching MMA.

i'll second this request.
i've lost the option to set music or videos to use mma as the default it never shows mma icon in the list of apps to pick from when trying to pick a default app.
this of course is on my motorola cell phone :(

I don't know how much this can affect stock rom users, and if it is something to be supported, as I think I only have this option because of the custom rom. But wanted to throw this into the round.

When pluging in headphones, I have the option to launch the default music application. I get to choose Apollo and Play Music.

This is not when choosing to open a .mp3 file, there it lists MMA as expected.
