This fixed it for me
Thank you Peter!

MMW setup can only add exclusion to current user credentials and if Services uses other credential it can manifest as such issue where you need to enter manually Firewall rules.

Lowlander seems right that the IP addresses might be just a survival of old entries (issues 13538 and 13539) on the [UPnP/DLNA] tab.
But on the [Server] tab you should see them actual and also the Date column, is the date the current for the entries you mentioned?
Based on your description it seems that they are from 2016 and thus the old entries and you are not seeing any new entries/access now?

1) Could you please try whether you are able to access the MMW server using Bubble UPnP for Android?
2) Could you try whether you can access another UPnP server on the same PC where MMW runs (e.g. Windows Media Player's sharing) ?
3) Generate debug log as requested by LowLander in the post above

Thanks!

That's likely this bug I reported a while back: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=13538 with perhaps a hint of: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=13539

This however, doesn't affect my ability to UPnP play or wifi sync.

The problem now is resolving your problem. I guess a debug log (step 4b) that covers MMA attempting via UPnP to access server is a good start: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 26&t=86835 Attach that log to a Support Ticket. You may also want to include a log from MMA (send from About screen right after attempt via UPnP) by adding its logID to the ticket.

OK, I have installed MMW beta and MMA beta on my PC and my android devices. Still no change and no connection. I can see the files in MMW in the Media Server/MediaMonkey Library.

Can somebody explain why my 2 android devices have the correct MAC addresses but incorrect IP addresses on the UPnP/DLNA tab? Why even after I remove them, back out of the Options, close & reopen MMW the IP addresses are STILL incorrect?

Hi,
There is one difference when we here call it a Beta. It usually means it is stable product but with addition to inform users that they should make Settings/essentials backups.

Alphas are on the other hand completely different thing.

The best thing regarding Betas and MM generally is taht you can have several Beta Portable Installs which instead of actual files can have completely different Databases.

MMW: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 54426&sd=d
MMA: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 94#p426194

As there are continued fixes to sync it may resolve the problem (no need to troubleshoot something already fixed). It may not fix the problem and the problem may lie in Windows blocking MediaMonkey or MediaMonkey being incorrectly configured.

So, I am not not excited about installing beta versions. Is this just for troubleshooting?? Especially because I have been able to connect to UPnP and Wireless Sync with the non-beta versions previously.

OK, thanks again. I have rebooted all that you requested to no effect.

Can you send me links to how to install MMW beta and MMA beta?

You may want to try a restart of your PC, Android device and Router. Alternative you can update MMA and MMW to their latest betas.

Lowlander, thanks for your reply.

This is correct. Neither device connects at all. "Searching" just spins until I stop it. I disabled the Windows Firewall and attempted to connect via UPnP and Wireless Sync with both devices. The results are the same - No Connection.

I am not familiar enough with "other DLNA clients" to know how to answer this question. As stated in the OP both devices can wirelessly connect to my desktop thru the Android app ES Explorer.

To confirm, you can't browse files using UPnP in MMA? Have you tried temporarily disabling the Firewall in Windows? Can other DLNA clients browse the MediaMonkey Server?

Unable to Connect via UPnP or Wireless Sync

by RiffRaffAK » Sun Jan 08, 2017 2:41 pm

I am unable to Wireless Sync or UPnP both my Samsung Galaxy S3 and my Samsung Note 10.1 tablet. Both are running MMA 1.2.0.0624. MediaMonkey for Windows is 4.1.14.1813 with the lifetime Gold license. I get the error message:

The media transfer process on SPH-L710 – Card appears to be frozen. If the issue doesn't resolve on its own within a few minutes, please disconnect the device and reboot it. It the problem recurs, please use Wi-Fi Sync instead.

I have disconnected both devices and rebooted several times with no effect. I have rebooted my PC and assured that explore.exe is not running. Still my Sync problems persist. Additionally, Wi-Fi Sync is not possible. Each device just spins trying to connect to MMW/UPnP.

When I select Options for my UPnP MediaMonkey Library, my desired devices are enabled but the MAC addresses and the IP addresses listed by MMW are not the same as displayed by each device. The MAC addresses are correct but the IP addresses are not. I have removed each device, closed MMW, and rebooted my PC with no effect. Once I launch MMW and go to UPnP Media Sharing Options the devices are listed and enabled but the IP addresses are incorrect.

Both my phone and tablet can wirelessly access my desktop thru the Android ES Explorer app. I have worked thru this forum's help topic Streaming your Library to Other Devices as well as Russell Samuels post Failure to Connect to the UPnP/DLNA Server.

In the past I have been able to connect to UPnP and Sync Wirelessly with both devices. I have troubleshot connection problems after an MMW Update by tinkering around enough – removing devices and reestablishing, and/or tinkering with Sync settings. But this time all to no avail. On the Media Sharing (MediaMonkey Server)/Server tab the log shows:

Date – 11/6/2016 (11:28:34 AM), Status – Accepted, the correct MAC address but the incorrect IP address (altho it might have been correct on that date), Client Name – Dalvik/1.6.0 (Linux; Android 4.4.2; SPH-L710 Build/KOT49H), Requested File - /867.jpg

but the line below it reads:

Date – 11/6/2016 (11:28:34 AM), Status – Accepted, the same MAC address and the same IP address, Client Name – Samsung SPH-L710 stagefright/1.2 (Linux;Android 4.4.2), Requested File - /\Music\Artist\D\Dan Fogelberg\The Wild Places\ItemID=22295.mp3

I don't know why a Requested File would just be a .jpg. Nor do I understand why the MAC address and the IP address are the same on 2 lines, but the Client Names are different.

Earlier in the Server log it shows:

Date – 11/6/2016 (10:17:59 AM), Status – Accepted, the same MAC address and the same IP address, Client Name – MediaMonkeyAndroid/1.0 UpnP/1.0 Cling/2.0, Requested File – Root Directory

and then even earlier:

Date – 11/5/2016 (11:11:33 AM), Status – Accepted, the same MAC address and the same IP address, Client Name – Apache-HttpClient/UNAVAILABLE (java 1.5), Requested File - /\Music\Genre\Pop\[All]\ItemID=111936.m4a
At the top of the Media Sharing (MediaMonkey Server)/Server tab it shows:

Server Name: MediaMonkey Library
IP Address: Automatic Port: 63980

I am not fluent in configuring Ports and some of the more advanced suggestions in Russell's post.

Am I experiencing an issue with MediaMonkey or am I having trouble with Windows 10 itself??
