Sync worked!

Sort of. Seems like when i sync it re-ads the internal library folders to the MMA library and the problem resumes.

When i remove them from Options > General > Choose Library Folders and then check for new/changed media it works again.

Of course i get all indignant and then potentially solve the problem. Sorry

I still need to test the sync back when i get home, but i have it saving from the track to a new playlist, and that playlist is saving on the card.

Preface to this - I had 2 locations with music on my phone, 1 internal folder and 1 folder on the sd card

MPG, try this:

in MMA:
Options > General > Choose Library Folders > Delete all external storage folders. Then delete and add the folders you want to use internally (Music and playlist folder).

Options > UPnP > Download Location > Set to your internal music folder

Exit the app, reboot your phone (not sure if you need this step but i did it)

Options > General > Check for new/changed media - Let it finish, theres a spinning wheel at the top.

On my phone, with MMA, My Sync Settings are:
SM-G930W8 Internal Storage (/storage/emulated/0)
SM-G930W8 SD Card (storage/0155-17E1)

The SD card is identified as Portable Storage within the device settings.

I did notice something potentially interesting:
On the SD card, there is a playlist called "Mobile Greg.m3u" with a create date the same as the day that I did the sync (Feb. 1). Size (19.74 kb)
On the internal storage there is a playlist called "Mobile Greg.plu" with a create date 4 days later (Feb. 5). Size (0B)

When I create a playlist manually, it is being created on the SD card. I have to create the playlist first, then add the songs to it. I cannot select songs and create a new playlist without receiving the notice of "No Valid Tracks"

Does any of this help.

Giving up. Ignored by the devs. Support for SD cards appears to be non-existent. Yeah I can get the files on there, but it doesnt sync back and playlists are a mess of issues.

Back to using internal memory.

Extremely disappointing on all fronts.

I've been a supporter since the beginning and I've never seen you guys drop the ball this hard.

I think we are going to have to help ourselves with this one.

My wife and I both have Samsung S7's. Her music is on her device, and I was able to create playlists from both Genre and Artist view. So it appears to be an issue with the music being on the SD Card.

Should I create a ticket?

I do have Playlists (synced from MMW) already on the device, but I use SD card only. Feel free to send a debug log (from About screen) and open a Support Ticket with the logID.

Yea i feel like it's just looking in the wrong directory for the files.

That's a good point glassbox. My music is on an SD card as well.....may be a clue....maybe.

I'm having the same issue, and judging by the hits to this thread so are a few other people.

Everything was working as it should before I got a new SD card for christmas, previously I was using the internal storage on my phone.

Not sure on my home version of MMW, it's probably out of date.

It syncs my lists fine, imports the files etc. Puts them in the right dir on the card, as I've specified.

When I try and make a new playlist from the now playing screen, it lets me 'make' it (I type it in etc, it shows up in the list on the next selection screen). I then select the list and i get the 'no valid files' error. The playlist is not created, the song not saved to said playlist.

However, when I make a new playlist from the playlist menu in MMA, it stores it in the playlist directory of my internal storage, where it previously did, and allows me to save a song from the now playing screen. I have specified it to store the playlists to the SD card (or so I thought, the synced lists from MMW go to this new directory on the sd card).

Let me know what information you need from me, I'll check back here often. This is driving me somewhat nuts.

I'm still having this problem. When you tested did you have any other playlists? I do not have any.
