Thanks nohitter. I do appreciate your reply. All I glean from these posts is (1) Optimize Quick performs a subset of what Optimize Complete does [which I pretty much had assumed], and (2) one of the things Optimize Complete does is to re-create the full-text search index for each song.

I am not having a problem with Optimize. I was just curious about the questions I put in the first post. No biggie.

Optimize Quick vs. Complete

by JoePublic » Mon Jul 04, 2011 12:31 pm

I've spent a fair amount of time searching the forum, but can't find much info on this: I am curious as to the difference between Quick and Complete Optimization in the Maintain Library section. I have 100,000+ tracks in my library and run the optimization every now and then, when I think of it. I'm on MM 3. Would anyone care to share what they know on this subject? What goes on behind the scene? Is there a time when I SHOULD run one or the other? Thanks in advance.
