Sorry Ludek,

in the meantime i have deleted the current installation for when i wanted to add one single folder from a hdd (D://Klassik) MM5 did a full rescan of the complete hdd with pop and rock music. I don't want them in the the database for i will keep them apart. I wanna keep them apart for i don't want to mingle the playlists of classical and other genre. It is getting to crowded.

So goodbye auto playlists for my classical music ;-). I will rebuild you again.

When i see the double entries in the future, i will do a screenshot and send it to you.

hat happens now and what i cannot explain is that i got quiet a lot of double entries over the months which do not dissappear with a new rescan of the locations.
What do you mean by double-entries? Is it that if you go to Music > Location > ... certain folder... that some tracks are twice there with same path?
Could you please attach screenshot of this with Path column enabled?

Hi there,

thanks for your answers.

I think both possibilities don't allow me to do a clean installation for i don't want to overtake old entries of the earlier database. I want to do a new database concerning the tracks. And for my luxury :D i'd like to reimport the auto-playlists.

@Ludek: there was another wish/occurance in the background. Working with my main alpha installation i always overtake the earlier database of the installation before. What happens now and what i cannot explain is that i got quiet a lot of double entries over the months which do not dissappear with a new rescan of the locations. That is a behaviour i do not know from MM4. Maybe i should have asked this, but i wanted to experiment with an all new installation for maybe this effect is long gone.

Another way is to preserve the Portable folder (or move it from the old MM5 install folder to the new).

We also plan allowing the "standard" installs soon (as MM5 will have another folder in User/AppData then we are safe and preserving MM4 data untouched)

What I do is use MM4 as my main app with all my auto playlists defined in there. Then whenever a new build of MM5 comes out, it asks if you want to import the database from MM4 into MM5. So just build all your auto playlists in MM4 then import them straight into MM5 when a new build comes out.

You can just delete old installs of MM5 and pull all your playlists back in when you install the new version.

Hi there,

experimenting and working with the alpha versions is fun. What isn't fun is rebuilding all my auto playlist when i do a clean install. So i ask how to export/save my auto playlists to be capable to import them back after a clean installation of a new alpha.
