monkeyrok has this feature already. but it is connected to lastfm but still accurate. you are able to decide if it shall display artits from your library or also artist which are not in your library.
you can find it in the options of mediamonkey --> external panel --> similar artists

I would like to see a plugin/addon which recommends other/new albums by artists in my music library or ones that I might like in the same genre. If this also linked to popular online music stores like Amazon or Play then I could easily look at what new music was around. Something a bit like the iLike app for iTunes.
