Just enter your query in the search box and it will bring up results right away. Hit Enter after entering the query if you want it to remember the query in the Search node. If you use the magnifying glass button it will bring up the Search window allowing you to do more advanced searches.

The search is one click. I'm not sure what you mean about a second window.

I would like the Search function in Media Monkey to function like Winamp:
I would like to simply enter a song or artist in the search box and have it bring up results. The way it is now, when one enters something, a second window opens and I have to choose each time what I want to search, eg. entire library, tv, etc etc. My wish is a one click search.
Apart from that, I've been loving MediaMonkey for my playlists. Tnx.
