so your saying the mmip will now not load at all?

you have been running mediamonkey first, then clicking on the mmip then going to mediamonkey to see the install panel for the mmip. and it is not there? can you shrink the monkey to the onscreen now playing list only and see if the panel is behind monkey? or did you do that?

did you make sure the service to run second logon in vista for apps that need it is turned on.?
use the "MZ Ultimate Tweaker " to look at the service's that one has a good discription of the services so i use it.
did that help?

:-?

Let's expand on this a little.

Running MediaMonkey as an Administrator I can remove extensions, but when I go to install them (even after closing, restarting mm) I can't do it. It loads a separate instance of MM, which I assume is not running as an admin, and it won't install.

Hi all,

I've noted that on XP, extension installation info is written to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaMonkey\Extensions.ini
which I suppose does not work unless you're admin on the machine.

Might this is the reason for this problem?

IMHO this extension directory and ini should be in the installation path (MediaMonkey home) or in the User Local Settings where MM stores the user related stuff.

Cheers, tralla

But now if I start MM without admin privileges and attempt to install a script I get "Product installation error" and not the "You must run MediaMonkey as admin" message.
Are you running Vista or XP ?

I have 1213 and have still been unable to install the Last.fm plug-in even when running MM as administrator. Get production error message. Have tried installing it from the desk-top which worked for the Advanced Duplicate script earlier today, but that doesn't work for the Last.fm plugin.
Seems there must be a way to write these things so they will install on Vista machines with no hassle???

Just installed 1212, seemed to be doing ok, then crapped out, presented debug screen. Sent in report...Hopes it helps. Moved back to 1209.
