Specifically:

b) For functional problems (i.e. no crash or error) or if you can't generate a debug log as described above, you can manually generate a debug log by installing the debug version and then:
- Download the DbgView application from: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysint ... gview.mspx
- Execute DbgView.
- If you know that the bug triggers a system freeze, configure DbgView to save the log to a file automatically via File > Log to File...
- Execute MediaMonkey_Debug.exe and try to reproduce the bug with a small set of Tracks.
- You'll see logs being generated in DbgView. Save the log messages from DbgView to a file if necessary.

Sorry, you need to follow this instruction instead to be able to get a debug-log:

"4) Send us a debug log to help us pinpoint the problem (you need to be using a debug build to do so e.g. MediaMonkey_xxxx_debug.exe):
a) For crashes and error conditions MediaMonkey will automatically prompt you to send a debug log / error report. If this doesn't occur, you can generate the debug log by clicking <right-CTRL><left-SHIFT><TAB>."

How do I do this when MM crashed before anything can be done? Should I run with skin override off, to make MM start, then press shift ctrl tab? Sorry for being a bit stupid...

I got a Dell Studio 1537
intel p8600
4gb ram
320gb hd
ati 3450
win vista sp1
MM beta ...1240

The problem still occurs if I do the same.
How do I create a debug log?

Svenni,

We tested with Vista-32 and MM 3.1.0.1240 and observed no problems.

Can you give me more details about your system? Perhaps a debug log (assuming you're already using build 1240)?

Thanks.

Win override skin gives crash [NOTREP]

by svenni » Tue Apr 28, 2009 6:37 am

I just got vista and had MM working great. Then I thought that I wouold try the skin override, and restarted MM. MM just crashed and could'nt start. Any way to fix this by editing the ini file or something?, because I still cannot get into MM to change it.

I am using the newest MM beta and Blue Monkey skin (a remake of avMM2 skin)

Thanks a lot.

Edit: I changed the Skinned=0 to 1 under [System] in MM.ini. Now it works fine again, so there is definately something wrong with skin override
