the sorting of the playlist is not the problem, of course they should revert to their playing order
the problem is that the sorting of e.g. the artist node is not retaining when you're using the artist link in a playlist

I might be misunderstanding, but I think you're saying that it's a bug that playlists/autoplaylists don't retain custom sort orders (they lose any sort as soon as you switch nodes). From my perspective, it makes sense that they should always revert to their play order.

Ok. Confirmed in 1288 using AP "Last 50 Played" instead of "Now Playing".

e.g.
In Now Playing.
Switch to Artist(Bob Dylan)
Currently unsorted. Set Artist+Title as sort order for Artist nodes.
Return to Now Playing.
Switch to Artist(Bob Dylan).
Sort order maintained.
Return to Now Playing.
Switch to Artist(Ray Charles)
New data, but, sort order (Artist+Title) still in effect.
i tried with now playing and it worked for me too
then i tried the same using a playlist (like last 50 tracks played etc.) and the sorting was gone

Could not reproduce problem but could reproduce symptom by, e.g.:

Switch to AlbumArtist(Bob Dylan)

instead of

Switch to Artist(Bob Dylan)

well, i'm able to reproduce this on 2 different MM installations (both build 1288, one german, one english language )
here is my step by step instruction:
1) just picking one artist from the artists in the library node
2) sorting ctrl-clicking on played # and title
3) playlists node, last played playlist
4) select a track from the playlist and click on the artist link
5) all tracks from that artist in that library are shown, but the sorting order is away

:) hope you know what i mean

schoerki222,

I can't reproduce the bug either using the Library links. Whenever I click a link, MM switches to the related node (using the sort order associated with the related node).

Can you give step by step instructions re. how to reproduce?

Thanks.

i set the option "show links in the songlist" to "archive".
so when i click the link to an artist, it shows the tracks but forgets my sorting order.
Ummm.
I have that option set to "Library" and do not see "Archive" in the drop-down of values for the option.

Edit: Hmmm. Are you using a non-english version of MM?
yes, you are right.
i'm using the german one.
library should be the correct translation :)

sorry
