This is know issue with intellitype drivers. They override native Windows handling of Media Keys and only Known Apps can use it correctly.

When you find MM is not working try using this App and see if it handles/fetches Media Keys?

Media keys not working.
Microsoft software (intellitype) keyboard version (7.1) for Sidewinder X6
Win 7 x64.

The only reliable way to get the keyboard media keys working is to start both Windows Media Player and Media Monkey at the same time. The activation of WMP allow the media keys to function normally in MM.
One additional comment:

First of all I have programmed the “Web/Home” key to go back to the previous track and the “Calculator” to go to the next track on the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. From there what worked for me is:

1. Start both WMP & MM.
2. Start to play a song in Windows Media Player.
3. Close Windows Media Player and now your media keys that you have configured will work in MM.

What you don’t want to do is start something in Windows Media Center as that will cause havoc with MM. If anyone know why, please let me know!

Have tried:
\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
Options]
PreferLLKeysHook=1
no effect.

Right you are.
It is a pity though, it would be good if MM could work with Intellitype current version.
Thanks for that.

Try uninstalling the intellitype software--does that solve the problem (the keyboard should work fine with just the drivers)?

I can't reproduce (not on Dell keyboard). Do you have a key combination assigned to the keyboard media keys? Also check your settings under Tools > Options > Hotkeys. Otherwise create a debug log and send it to support: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=341

Hi,

using the Next Song Key on my DELL MM Keyboard, the next song is skipped and the overnext song is played.
[Edit] Same behaviour with Previous Song Key.
