Hi Tommycrock

Yes - I get the long list of streams in MM4.

Thanks
John

Hmm, well it works for me now in 1455 - although it looks a lot more ugly than in WMP. In MM do you have a list of 32 UIDs in the now playing list? In WMP it brings up the name of the radio station only.

Hi Tommycrock

Yes that method works for me (1454) as well.

Thanks
John

Yes--that particular stream works for me (in 1454). Could it be that you're missing some Windows Media components (you can test by seeing if it plays in WMP).

Well, I can't get it to play either way, but I can get the same result as Open URL or File... by going to the Web node, right click and "add new bookmark". You can then name the bookmark by right-clicking it. How come it plays on yours and does this work for you?

John,

I've used
StationRipper
in the past, and set MM's File Monitor to detect whatever streams it saves.

There might be an MM addon that someone has built for this, but I'm not aware.

Saving a radio stream

Post by jmcc » Wed Nov 02, 2011 7:08 pm

Hi - Forgive me for asking what is probably a stupid question, but I've just started looking at internet radio streams for the first time and was wondering how I can save a stream within the media tree to go back to later. For example, to listen to BBC Radio 4, I run File/Open URL or File/ then enter "http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r4x.asx" in the open dialog and it streams fine; is there any way to save this to the media tree for use later?

What would be even better, is to then be able to distribute this stream via DLNA to a renderer/player - making any renderer an Internet Radio. Again - apologies if this is already possible, but I can't quite see how to do it.

Thanks
John
