I wouldn't know if the developers received them. I prefer to also send a debug log (step 4b) to support so there is a ticket to communicate the problem directly with the developers. Otherwise you're left hunting in the Bug tracker to find if it has been resolved: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view_all_bug_page.php

After installing MediaMonkey_4.0.3.1476_Debug.exe over my current portable install, it prompted me to send a crash report. I sent a few of them out which referenced different errors. Is that what you mean? Did you not receive them?

WIN7 Portable Install-Access & OS Function Error

Post by lostinthought » Sun Mar 25, 2012 2:33 pm

Hey everyone, I am having some serious issues with my portable installation of MM4. Here is some background....I have a PC:Win7 64bit OS and a laptop: Win XP 32bit. I installed a portable install of MM4 (at the time it was version MM4.0) on a portable WD 1TB drive. After installing I was successfully able to use my portable install on both my PC and laptop with no issues. Tagging, syncing, and all functions worked great. Since then I have update to 4.0.2.1462 and as of current 4.0.3.1476. Sometime in the last 2-3 weeks the portable install stopped working on my Win7 64bit PC, but continues to work without error on my XP laptop, I tested it on a diff XP laptop and it also works fine.

Here is a video of the error I am getting: http://www.screencast.com/t/5NxfA2d1ZLSb

On the WIn7 PC I had a local install, so I uninstalled the local MM4 copy and deleted all .DB & .INI files in order to completely wipe any conflicting instances. After rebooting I plugged in my portable HD and ran the portable install...still got the same errors. Next, on the Win7 PC, I reinstalled MM4.0.3 as a portable install in the same folder as the previous install. I hoped this might clear things up, but I am still getting the same errors!

Not sure what else to do. If anyone can help, please do! If I can provide any additional info to help in the process let me know.
Thanks!

Update 3/26/12 – I was able to install a local copy of MM4.3.on the WIN7 PC. Works fine with no errors, but the Portable install still wont work...Please Help!
