Having the same errors as the previous user reports today, SUN Nov 5th 2017..

Thought maybe my 21 day trial of dBpoweramp expiration may have effected MediaMonkey since we can no longer access databases in it as well.
(could their expiration effect MediaMonkey??? )

Too bad the power wouldn't just go out and we would have to light a candle and just listen to the rain. Maybe play the guit-fiddle?

good day - rkk

As an alternative you can try these settings:
Protocol: HTTP
Server: freedb.musicbrainz.org
User: anonymous
Domain: some.domain

Wondering if the FreeDB connection issue has been solved. Still not working for me at this late hour on Monday the 21st.

Same problem. Using mm yesterday and no problem with freedb. Today I've been getting timeout on ripping. Using MM 4.1.13.1801 on Win 10.

EAC can't connect either. WMP uses a different solution.

"There was an error while connecting to Freedb. Timeout error occured while connecting to Freedb"

It was working this morning. I did a few things between the time it worked until it stopped working:
1. Entered gold license to Media monkey for full feature version
2. Uninstalled Nero suite free version (similar software media monkey)
3. Installed the MediaMonkey Server Service so that my AV receiver could connect even if media monky app wasn't running.

I have checked the firewall and it appears to be letting media monkey in. Can someone give specifics to what needs to be allowed through?

I have connected to freedb.com through the web and verified I can reach them and they are up.
I have also verified that WMP can get tag info for unknown cd's. I could use WMP but I paid for media monkey because the tag service is much better than WMP (when it was working, of course).
