Thanks for the clarification, I misunderstood your post.

Bummer, I thought you had figured out a way to sync back from Zen. :(

I know that Zen doesn't support half star ratings (MM converts them to full stars) and I am NOT syncing my Zen back to my PC. Problem is that MM3 still changes the half ratings to full ratings in my MM3 library every time I sync PC -> ZEN.

I have never synced tracks ZEN -> PC...but I just though I have seen that possibility...maybe I am wrong.

Forgive my ignorance but I thought the Zen didn't handle half-star ratings. I do not use ratings too much, well I use them with the Autorate script but I don't pay much attention to them when syncing back and forth. Is this a bug with MM or the Zen? Have you ever been able to sync half-stars back to MM or from MM to the Zen? If so, how because I have never been able to sync anything back from my Zen to MM. What process are you using to sync back to the PC?

Damn... I have similar problem with 3.0.3 1155 version
I have also Zen Vision: M

I have been wondering where my 3.5 and 4.5 ratings are gone but now I noticed that every time I sync..MM tags those tracks. Sometimes little a bit (usually) sometimes a lot.

And now I reinstalled my Windows partition (backed up all quite nicely, tracks are different partition than windows) and installed newest MM3...first sync was over 1000 tracks. So my conclusion is that it rounds up those 3.5 star and 4.5 star tracks to 4 and 5 stars. In library I have only couple of dozens those anymore.

Damn Damn.... :( My music is now better than it should be! :o

Timestamp is also changed...put in delay... Last time I Noticed big change in my library those timestamps delayed I think almost 12 hours. Now I think that I synced all tracks again back then. Which cause the disapearing of those .5 star tracks.

BTW I could swear that Device to PC sync was available in some time ago...Put now it can't used?!. Though..I have NEVER use it...I just checked if its accidentally on...maybe some bug there related to this problem?

Some history/undo script would be nice to track big changes on library...when you have thousonds tracks you don't always notice the changes although I backup my tracks and database every day.

Could you please try to generate a short debug log of the problem using MM 3.0 RC-1?

Thanks,
Jiri

Yes, I also see this problem - although I didn't use ratings with MM2.5 too much, so I just assumed this problem always existed in the old version!

Does this problem exist with other players - surely there are otehr players that don't support half-ratings?

Zen Vision M autosynch rounds ratings on PC [3.0.0.1908]

When autosynching my Zen Vision M the track ratings on my PC are rounded down which changes all of my half star ratings. For example, all of my 3.5 star tracks are changed to 3 stars. This occurs whether or not I changed the rating on my device.

Autosynching my ZVM worked great until something changed in version 2.5.5. I posted back then but was told to wait until version 3. I need a solution where I can rate tracks on my device and synch back and want to retain half stars due to my rating system. Is this a bug that can be fixed or some sort of design change that is permanent???
