just a bit more to add

in the show album art with details view, we have a date column that can be deselected but no year .

in the show album art view , there is a year column that seems to be locked and unconfigurable.

again the date and the year appear to be the same.

still getting the same problem , here are a few screen shots of what im on about .
sorry for the size of the images.

this first shot shows the drop down column menu with date only and no year.

this shot shows the track browser drop down with year shown but no date.

this shot shows the properties showing date again and no year.

now the 3 items are the same but called both date and year ,
i have now put a fresh install of rc2 on a pc that has never had mm installed and still get this happening.

Right click columns. 6th item down is 'Date', check it off, now you have a year column.

my version of mm3 rc2 has the date further down the list and if you check it off there is no year column

i am going to uninstall and do a fresh install of RC2

the last install was over MM2.

just need to sort out the date /year now

song properties uses date to display the year
columns use date to display year
track browser uses year to display year
windows song properties uses year to display year !

I was referring to MM2 sorry. There is lots of changes to UI from MM2 -> MM3 Tree nodes now can be hidden if you Right Click in Tree frame (or node) -> options -> Chose Tree Nodes.

i right click on the column but "year" is not an option .

i change "custom 1" to "year " but the column is blank ?

i notice that in song properties you have changed the "year" box to "date" if i select date from the columns i get my years displayed ok.

this is different to MM2 and the properties tag within windows.

date = **/**/**** year = ****

Thanks for help in testing MM3, we are glad to hear that it works for you.

1. Right Click on Column Names and Tick Year to get it shown

2. Tools -> Options -> Appearance and there you can set what to show what not show

hi folks first post hello to all .

i have recently upgraded my pc,s that were running itunes but with over a TB of music the pc,s were still painfully slow .i tried out many other players before MM, all were either heavy on cpu or unstable.
then i gave MM2 a go and found it stable and low on cpu usage.

MM2 took some getting used to at first but after a few hours you soon get the hang of it , i have now swapped over to MM3 and its running faultless with 1011GB of tunes.

the only thing i cant seem to do is have a column called "year"
but "year" is selectable as a track browser ?

also i cant remove " podcast ,net radio, and web " from menu. do i need to upgrade to perform this ?
