For me it worked to get the MP3 with Artwork embedded while converting from WMA on MediaMonkey 4.1, however I failed to have the WMA track tagged with any tags.

going from wma straight to mp3 i don't think is going to give you good sound quality.
as wma is a better format then mp3. its just mp3 is so widely used.
i had to when i did this same format change go to wav then to mp3 for better sound. yes i had to redo all cover art but i was only doing a few songs for another person that used mp3.
still i wonder if the new wma formats which it has plenty of now, make it more complicated to convert from wma straight to another compressed format. :-?

I am converting all my old wma to mp3. The album art does not stick with the newly converted mp3. I'd really like to do it all in one pass and not have to go throught the library again, adding album art. Is there a procedure that will let me do it all at once? The old wma already have the album art imbedded.
