It might be possible for someone to create a script to "send" a track to a designated audio editor, available from the tools menu... similar to the "send to winamp" script I've seen floating around. (Personally I just use drag and drop into my editor.) MP3DirectCut is a decent prog for editing without recompressing. I've never tried Audacity, so I don't know what it's like. If I ever need to edit tracks for shows or performances I prefer using software such as Soundforge (destructive) or Acid (non-destructive) and then simply saving the final in wav format.
I don't want MM to try to be an all-in tool, just as I prefer using other DJ software such as Traktor for parties (or maybe even Mixmeister, depending upon the requirements). Certain programs have particular strengths and I think they should continue to play to them. MM is a fantastic organiser / tagger / search tool that I'd be lost without.
