It depends on the node you're in. If you're on an Album or Artist node Shift+Enter will open the Properties of the Album or Artist instead of the File Properties.

Thanks Lowlander. That makes sense. Also kind of makes sense now to why it doesn't open up the "Properties" dialog box. I just wish it did, because it doesn't do anything when tracks are light color selected and you use SHIFT+ENTER short-cut.

Light means operations are on the tree node.

What's the deal with the Darker color vs. Lighter color selection of songs in MM?

For instance, when I click on a folder node, MM will automatically LIGHT COLOR select the 1st Track listed. If I single mouse click on that track, it will turn to a DARK COLOR selection of that track.

There must be some kind of identifier purpose within MM, which I'm not understanding the use.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to use keyboard short-cut keys for some tedious tag editing I'm doing. I seem to have run into a keyboard short-cut problem. So, what I'm doing is that I'm clicking on a folder node which contains songs. I then use the keyboard short-cut <CNTRL>+<A> to "Select All" the songs within that folder. MM LIGHT COLOR select all the songs. My next step is to then open up the "Properties" dialog box, so that I can enter in some text and simultaneously tag all the selected tracks. So the keyboard short-cut for the properties dialog box to pop up is <SHIFT>+<ENTER>. Well, when the tracks are LIGHT COLOR selected, that keyboard short-cut <SHIFT>+<ENTER> does not work. It only works when the tracks are DARK COLOR selected, which would require me to perform a mouse click to achieve that. So it's kind of defeating the purpose of keyboard short-cuts if I have to go back and forth between my mouse and keyboard.
