You'd need to play 24/96 encoded files to hear the difference. There is an audible difference if you have a good system. Otherwise everything will still play. 24/96 is definitely where hifi is headed. You should convert all your wav files to flac. No difference at all in quality, it's lossless, but a big difference in storage space!

Using A DAC With MM4

Hello Everyone,

I have a question regarding setting up a DAC with MM4. My question mainly is in regards to the Bit-rate and frequency setting. I have an Async DAC with with up to 24bit/96Khz output. I have all my music files ripped as lossless wav files.

I know CD's are natively 16 bit/44Khz or something like that. So using the higher resolution settings will gain me nothing, correct? Will these CD files even play using a the higher resolution settings and WASAPI output?

Mike
