Yeah, you could definitely write a script to do this. Unfortunately a rarely find time for scripting at the moment :(

rovingcowboy: I'm guessing that nuredin doesn't want to find and select each track individually again?

I would have avoided this issue by using a playlist for my choices, but if I was doing this myself I'd probably do it as follows:

1. Open the folder of shortcuts in Explorer alongside MM:
2. D-click the first to open it in MM's Playing Now.
3. R-click that and send it to a playlist, say 'Favourites'.
4. Repeat steps 2-4 for every entry.

In my own case I'd write a simple temporary macro to perform those three steps automatically. But, unless there is already one in existence, maybe one of the MM script-writers could oblige?

Use mm playlist of all accessible files if you have scanned your songs into mm they show up there. Then you use the manual auto organizer on the tools menu to set up the pathway you want to put the songs in. (You need to select the songs first ) then mm will move them to the folder set up you told it to. Speed depends on your amount of ram and cpu's and how many songs you selected.

copy multiple files from their shortcuts that point to them

... and all at once.

i have a folder which contains over 400 music shortcuts. i mean only shortcuts that point to the corresponding mp3 files. now i need two things: 1- create a playlist from these shortcuts, or 2- copy all those files from their shortcuts at once to a new folder. i just can't find a way to do that!

why am i posting this topic to the lovely forum?
well, while listening to a track using mediamonkey as music player, and you say to yourself: 'oh yes, that's a very good one' you have the possibility to create a shortcut of it via a mediamonkey script named 'shortcut creator' to a folder of choice. so when months go by, you have got a folder with plenty of excellent music tracks, but you can do nothing with them. it will be pretty if we can play that music from this shortcuts-folder and then the rest will be simple such as copying them all (the real mp3 tracks) to a new folder, or make a playlist from within the player, which is simple too. if i have all tracks unified in the one new folder, so of course, the job with the playlist is done. but you see how difficult to point to each shortcut and copy its content from the tarjet area. as i couldn't find any possibility to make a detour, i wondered if someone out there could help me. i'm looking for a batch method or an external program or anything else that can handle this issue.

thank you very much for your help.
