Hello Iggy.
I have nothing to say that will help you, but the reason you just mentioned
is why i don't use this script anymore. It just dosent stop at the playlist you
told it to, it scans them all... I have also lot of autoplaylists and it scans them
too, taking up a huge of time and for me, it is a strange and useless behavior.

Maybe i doing somthing wrong, but i tried a lot to make it work for me but, nope..

Hi again.

After further review -----

I now see that none of my playlists that come before "Last 50 Played" actually CONTAIN any duplicates.

What the script is doing is:

Scans the playlist I specify, then scans the next (in the node tree), then the next, and so on. It doesn't stop after scanning the playlist I specify. It was doing this so quickly, I didn't see it at first.

I wonder if there is a way to make the script stop after doing just the playlist I specify.

I, too, am a new user of Fix Playlist Dups. This is something that would save me tons of time if I can get it to work. Unfortunately, so far, I have not. Here's the deal:

Am running MM v. 3.1.0.1250
Windows 2000
FixPlaylistDups v. 4.4

I installed FixPlaylistDups

I call it from Tools > Scripts > Fix Playlist Dups

I choose "Artist & Title"

I choose (for example) playlist "Beach Boys" and hit "OK"

The script starts running, as shown in the progress bar. But it skips right down through the playlists until it gets to "Last 50 Played" and it analyzes that playlist. It does this no matter what playlist name I enter into the dialog box. It seems fixated on analyzing only "Last 50 Played."

I am not knowledgeable about scripting languages, so I cannot figure out why this is happening.

Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong? This script could be a real benefit to me if I can get it to work.

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions.

I just ran the playlist duplicate fixer for the first time. I have run it several times today and found it to function like prior posts - intermittently.

Using the track id function does eliminate some dupe's, but not all. I have no idea why.
Using the artist-title function with case sensitive deselected, does eliminate some dupe's, but not all. I have no idea why. I find the same artist and title with the same spelling, but different cases to remain in the list.

Yes, I did refresh the playlist by selecting a different playlist and then back to the original playlist.

I use the playlist to load my ipod, so it would be nice not to have duplicate songs.

Perhaps, I just need to learn how to use this script better?
Are there any other hints to be aware of while running this script?

Thanks for the script. I appreciate it.

Wow, I've not looked at this script in years! Do you have two playlists of the same name?

I don't know what is happening but suddenly mediamonkey (v.3.2.4.1304) started freezing and closing after trying to use Fix Playlist Dups 4.4. I already removed and made a fresh new installation of MM and install this script.... and the problems is still happening. I use windows 7 64bit. with this version since 2 or 3 weeks ago without any problem. It's so strange i didn't experience this problem as long as i had used MM.

Hope someone has a solution
thanks!

If you wish each removal to be confirmed you can set this confirmation in the MM options.
Forgive me, as I'm still getting the "swing of things" with MM, but where exactly can I find the option for confirmation of deletion? I don't see any specific nodes in Options for this script.

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you be more specific?
