File sync can fail if files are inaccessible by MMW. That can easily be verified by playing one of the files that failed to sync, if it plays that's not the issue. In that case I suggest you send a debug log (step 4b) capturing both the connecting of the device to the PC (USB) and a subsequent sync attempt to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=26&t=69
Thanks for the reply. I just thought to connect my phone to my Windows 8 laptop (also running MM 4.14), and found that the same problem did not occur there - I could do a USB sync, and I could see the tracks on the phone from within MM. Now, reconnecting the phone to my desktop Windows 7 machine, the problem is gone there too.

So, at least for the moment, my problem is mysteriously fixed.

thanks again...

The same Device Profile (Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync) is used for both USB and wifi sync. Although you can modify this in MMA you'll have more options available in MMW.

Got WiFi sync to work, broke USB sync?

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question ... let me know or move the post if necessary.

MMW Gold 4.1.4.1709 running on Windows 7 Pro
MMA 1.0.7.0295 running on HTC One with Android 4.3 (rooted)
[though I only updated to this an hour ago - I got WiFi sync to work using MMA 1.0.5]

I decided to try wifi sync with my HTC One, and after some wrestling yesterday I can now configure the sync options for wifi sync by going to:

Tools->Options->Portable Device Sync->HTC One->Configure, checking "Grant Remote Sync" and then choosing tracks to sync, and then tapping "Sync Now" on my phone.

[First question - Is that the right method? It's confusing to me that there is a Device Profile seemingly connected to the .dll file used for my phone/device that looks exactly like the profile that appears when I connect my phone via USB, and I'm not sure if changing options on one is exactly the same as changing options in the other]

My problem is that now, if I connect my phone to my computer with USB, I can't do an "Auto Sync" over USB. The Mediamonkey window scrolls very fast through the names of files it is trying to copy, but then puts up a window saying there was a problem copying files to my device, and a list of every file it was trying to sync/copy. Very strangely, if I open my phone in the left corner of MM and try to look at the tracks on it, it behaves as if there were no music on it whatsoever. It is as if MM cannot see the Music folder on my phone anymore over USB, which it certainly could do before yesterday.

Any thoughts on what might have caused USB sync/visibility to fail, or suggestions on what I might do to fix the problem? Thanks in advance for any advice...
