Anonymous user: It would be helpful if you created a video with Jing illustrating the steps taken to trigger the problem--I can't replicate the problem when I try to follow your steps.
jlans: This is most likely a cache problem. I can't replicate this in 1482, but it might be related to the fix to http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9267 . See if you can replicate with the latest build, but delete the artwork cache beforehand.

Thanks.

Is Scan file directories for Artwork enabled under Tools > Options > Library?

Not sure if it's related to your issue, but here's mine.
I just loaded the latest (3.1476). No Artwork shows in any of the options with art. I looked at my music folders and I have 99% of the song folders with saved images from prior versions of MM as folder.jpg, yet they were not recognized when the folder was scanned in. I took one example folder and used auto-web which found it fine. then saved with option default save to tag, otherwise folder.jpg. Did not save image or showed. Used save folder.jpg option. Saved and showing up on multiple artists when I select them. Strange thing is if I play a artist, the correct artwork shows at bottom right(skin glided). Think the issue is more something to do with the art display process in the main screen section. Running vista 32bit E7400 4Gb will latest patches/drivers.

Hmmm, odd.
No idea! Does it happen if you repeat the process? If so, I'd make the MP3 files available for others to test and create a debuglog...

The issue happens with new files.

What I did step for step: I added a folder with a bunch of new mp3s to my MM4 library. In this folder was an image file like 'albumart.jpg' located. The mp3s' id3 tags contained links to the file. As this image was tiny, I decided to download a new album art file with higher resolution and embed it to the mp3s. I marked all mp3s of the folder in MM4 and opened the properties dialog, deleted the old linked album art and added the new one. The new file was selected to be written directly into the id3 tag. Then clicked onto OK button but no picture apeared in the main list view. Wondering why, I reopened the properties dialog to have a look onto the album art properties. The list shows me an icon with a question mark, meaning there was a link to an external image file, which is missing. Everything looked like the id3 tag was not saved last time, so I tried one more time - without luck. So I opened my AIMP3's id3 tag editor and had a look onto the recently edited mp3s. All were marked to contain album art, but when I selected the files, they all seemed broken. So I added an album art for the first mp3 in the folder using aimp. This file was shown in MM4 correctly, then. The next step was to delete the whole id3 tags, using MM4, close MM4, delete its image cache, reopen MM4 and try one more time to add album art. ... no luck. From this point of time I found AIMP3 showing no id3 tag for the third mp3. So I compared the file with my backups, finding out the file size was much smaller than the backed up file. But the file contained an id3 tag V1 and V2. I am not sure whether I also clicked on 'Synchronize Tags'.

Hope this helps.

I'm struggling to understand your problems. Is this a continuation of an old thread?
1) Album art colours: This sounds like the problems discussed at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=59925&start=15. If the weird colours relate to images you tagged with album art in MM4 betas pre 1425 then they'll still be messed up. If this is happening now it sounds like you have a new issue.

Do you mean you used "clean tags" from within MM and one of the audio files was destroyed?

Btw, I just encountered deleting the id3-tags also destroyed one of the files in the folder completly. It is just only 14kb of size, right now, instead of 6,8MB.

1475: corrupted Album Art

Hello guys,

Unfortunatelly, I still do have some problems with album art under some circumsatances. Imagine I have a folder full of mp3s with a jpg file representing the cover of the album. The id3-tags contain a link to the file. If I delete the link from id3-tag and embed a new image into the tag, MM4 does not show the newly embedded image as album art (cover). The image source folder is somewhere else, but not in the folder containing the issued mp3s. Wondering why the album art seems not to be written to id3-tag, I opened the id3-tag editor of AIMP3. It shows me a very colored but wrong image. It seems MM4 does not embed the image to ID3-tag completly - it seems corrupted. If I use AIMP3 to embed the album art, it is shown in MM correctly, too.

This issue does not always occure. Sometimes it works very fine, but sometimes not.

If I I fully delete the ID3-tag using MM4, close MM4, clean the image cache folders, open MM4 again and embedd the album art again, it seems to work.

Sorry, for only these few information, but I did not find out more, right now.

Regards
