Sorry, I do not know of a script which can do that. I'll add it to my ideas for the next version of "Album Art Tagger" - but it won't appear very soon.

How to delete older cover art inside an mp3 file?

Trix, I know this is an old post, but unfortunately I got tired of the tedious work of doing this by hand as Lowlander mentioned. At the time of the post I could not find your tagger, and started doing this by hand :(
Does your "Album Art Tagger" allows you to remove covers art based on the desired resolution and leaving those that do not match the criteria?? do you know of a script that could do this??

Thanks!!!

My "Album Art Tagger" has an option to remove all the artwork from the selected tracks in batch.

There is no automatic way, so you'll have to do it manually as rovingcowboy described. Allthough his last step is normally not needed.

make sure all the songs have an album listed with an album artist.

now select one of the songs. click the properties for that song

look at the top of the tabs you will see arrows on the right to move the tabs.
go to the album art tab, look on the bottom left you will see a check box to do it for all the songs on the same album.

check that box, then remove the images from that file that you don't want. click the okay button

all the songs should start having the images removed make sure it is done then check all the songs one at a time and make sure the new album cover is there, if not then re add it to that one file. but Make sure you UNCHECK that check box or it will add the same image to all the files again,

Hi All! I've noticed that when you tag a file with a new front cover art, the previous art is stored as "front cover 2" and so on, this allow you to select between two or more versions of a cover art and display it when the song is playing. I was wondering is there an automatic way to clean up the files, so that you could delete all front cover arts but the first one, leaving just the most recent covert art? Some files have been tagged twice in order to fit a better quality art, so there is no need for me to keep a second or third art (older covers) inside the file´s tag as they are in lower resolutions .... thanks in advance :D
