Re: Slow start if loading random auto-playlist

Hi Lowlander, I tried both suggestions. Start-up scan has always been disabled for me. I also tried the maintain library command. What I noticed is that a cold start still takes around 1 minute for MM to be responsive. If I close and restart MM, MM responds to user input after a few seconds. I forgo...

Re: Where is the database stored?

I think it is better to use Windows shortcuts where possible, as you can use those shortcuts everywhere in Windows, be it the file explorer or the command line or a file dialogue. In this case, a typical MM installation stores its database as: %APPDATA%\Mediamonkey\MM.db A portable installation stor...

Slow start if loading random auto-playlist

Hi, I have been using MM for some time (MM 4.1.11.1783 at the moment), and I noticed following slow application start with these conditions under a lot of previous versions of MM too: Create Auto-Playlist called "Random" with following settings: file size >= 100kB, show at most 3000 MB, so...

Re: panasonic tv issue

I am bored, so let me throw some pseudo-technical explanation. Device discovery is done through the Simple Service Discovery Protocol. When a UPNP server starts, it sends a "Hello, I am X and I can do Y and Z" to everyone on the local network. Mediamonkey server will tell "Hello, I am...

Re: UPNP server for MediaMonkey (v0.2)

Hi, bullrinos, you better focus your attention to following forum instead of this post: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=20 The first sticky post tells you how to enable the UPNP server functionality: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=62906 Let me explain thin...

Re: UPNP server for MediaMonkey (v0.2)

Hi, everyone,
this script is not maintaned anymore - MM 4.x already has support for UPNP/DLNA serving out of the box. The guys developing MM are doing a great job there, so if you haven't updated, please try the newer versions of MM.
Regards.

Re: BUG: Battery eating

Jiri, So far so good. Mediamonkey process is down the list, as it should be. I noticed that the screen lock widget in this pre 4.2 Android phone is killed very soon after playback stops. I am OK with that, and probably is related to fixing this battery bug. I will post here again if I ever encounter...

BUG: Battery eating

Hi, I noticed that sometimes MMA is being kept alive a while after the music has stop. For example, I was listening to some music while I walked home last night and MMA notification icon was still showing. The reports on battery usage says MediaMonkey was taking over 70% of the juice. It briefly rep...

Re: Playback stops when phone is idle

I need to state that without any task killer app on my Android 4.1.2 device, I do not get the same trouble. To me, it looks like Juice Defender is doing something it should not, like not recognizing MMA as a media player or whatever else it does. Do you mind asking Juice Defender developers why this...

Re: [REQ] WiFi Sync Boost

There's definitely room for improvement here. I used to work for a router company and we saw tremendous gains with the type of approach you're suggesting. Good wishlist item--but first I want to get MMA out the door ;-) -Rusty Thanks Rusty for the reply. Good luck getting MMA ready for mass consump...

Re: MediaMonkey for Android FAQ

Did you start MM for Windows 4.1 (MMW)? It is in beta form only and has to be downloaded from the related forum. Be aware that there are risks, so either have a backup of all your music and MMW settings (recommended anyhow) or use a portable installation with a separate library with just a few tracks.

Re: [REQ] WiFi Sync Boost

Errr... Maybe tar was not the best example. One other thing that pops into my mind is Google's SPDY protocol. If I got this one right, it gets a lot more info per TCP connection, instead of standard HTTP where each webpage resource - each graphic, each CSS file, each JS file - is taken by a single T...

[REQ] WiFi Sync Boost

Hi, I tried the WiFi sync the other day and found it somewhat slow - probably due to WiFi being slow anyhow (too many WiFi APs in my neighborhood). I wonder if a faster way to sync would be possible. I might be off the mark by a mile or so, so take my suggestion only if it makes sense. As the develo...

Re: Using MediaMonkey to search YouTube, Soundcloud etc.

This is my humble opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. I prefer software to do its job good and nothing else. I do not like how sometimes some software I have seen have been trying to do more than what it is expected to do. It just alienates the user base. For example, Winamp 2.x was a fairly g...
