When I installed the 2.3 Alpha, it automatically created a "backup" copy of my database as "MediaMonkey.mdb.~mdb" I didn't realize it at the time, but when I renamed the file and opened it, sure enough, it was my old 2.2 database. Dunno if it will work for everyone, but it worked for me.
