Library Location

I have looked at the various posts about moving the library. I recently added a NAS and have relocated ALL files in the current library to the NAS in a new folder. It seems the easiest solution to make that library the new one, would be to get rid of the old one, then rebuild with the new one. I'm n...

Re: DRM

1) Not with MediaMonkey. Well I guess I'll find them as I burn, unless I can find something to bulk copy, changing formats at the same time. 2) Not sure as Windows 10 Anniversary update caused problems with WMA. Maybe the latest Beta of MediaMonkey resolves this?[/quote] Nope, Im on releaese 4.1.14...

DRM

Many moons ago I ripped some cd's into WMA, and some other, formats. Now it seems, some are carrying DRM protection. I know I've burned some of these before, but now I get an error message from MM when I try to burn a to new CD. I discovered it so far only in the WMA formats. I have basically two qu...

Re: Ignore duplicates?

AlanH, I have loaded the "advanced duplicate find and fix" script, and was unable to figure out how to get it to function. I'd go thru the options, and set them up , i think, but saw no way to 'kick it off' to initiate a scan. obviously i did not do something correctly. Can you give me a quick write...

Re: Ignore duplicates?

Lowlander, I have made many changes to the new database folder that I'f prefer not to lose. I'm led to believe if I simply scan the old folder contents in, I'll end up with a BUNCH of duplicates for files that also in the new folder.... So I'm trying to find a way to not have to manually delete all ...

Ignore duplicates?

I have for some reason, lost quite a few tracks (multiple artists), probably some kind of cockpit error on my part!!!! However I have a saved copy of the music folder, pretty recent, and a good percentage of the tracks are there (that I know came up missing). Since I do not know which other tracks a...

Sorting Various Author tracks

I suspect I screwed up..... I have a fair number of 'various artist' CD's in MMW. Is there a way to sort and redistribute each track so that the data will be listed in each Artist's folder? I'd much rather look at the artist folder, and see the CD's name there as a folder, with any tracks by that ar...

Split Music Folders....

Somehow I have ended up with two music folders (both containing artist/album subfolders) at different levels within my folder structure. One at 'user/my music', and one at 'user/my documents/my music'..... What is the best way to combine both of these folders into the one at the 'user/my music' leve...

Re: How many "lifetime license" users out there?

I'm a 'lifer' and love MM :D . I've been using MM since March (this year) and still an getting more 'trained' with MM. I seem to have the most trouble importing tracks, getting the names/floders/artwork correct - but I'm learning..... Hopefully MM will continue to be developed and supported and gath...

Track Atrist & Album Artist Fields

A few months back, I migrated from Windows Media (please no shouts), and when I ripped many of my 'best of' CD's into the library, WM, placed the track artist in the 'Track Artist' field, but (dammit) put 'Various Artists' in the 'Album Artist' field for all of them (see http://www.images.themonnier...

Re: Media Monkey File Structure Question

You can although you could run into issue where 2 songs would have the same filename. Ahhhh, very good point Obviously I'm doing something in the wrong sequence, because I seem to have to generate (outside of MM) the folder structure, especially with a new artist. I'm gonna guess that my workflow i...

Media Monkey File Structure Question

First of all this is not a 'need help' cause somethings 'broken' item. I am a new MediaMonkey ('MM') user :) , and over the years my 'collection' has migrated through a couple of other cataloggers (none anywhere as thorough as MM!). The current 'structure' of my saved files seems like it is not any ...

Advice on 'recording/ripping'

If I've posted this in an incorrect place, please place where it needs to be. Being very new to MediaMonkey (love it so far....), and before I get off on the wrong path, I'd like some advice as to the "quality" most feel is appropriate. Meaning which format (wma, etc) and at what bitrate etc. I real...
