Re: MM5 Database not fully compatible with MediaMonkey 4

Thanks @Peke, I was able to restore MM4 compatbility by folllowing the instructions at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=95225#p462289. If anyone has the same issue: Close MediaMonkey 4, and backup your existing '%AppData%\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MM.DB' file. Do a clean install of Med...

MM5 Database not fully compatible with MediaMonkey 4

Hi, I installed MediaMonkey 5 beta a few months ago to try it out, noting that (as per the text in https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86639&start=75#p465201 ): Installation of MediaMonkey 5 can be on top of MediaMonkey 4, or independent of MediaMonkey 4. If you run both versions,...

How to bulk add/edit genres?

Hi! I've been using MediaMonkey 4 Gold for may years and have built up a large collection of songs with various combinations of genres. Most tracks have multiple genres assigned to them e.g. Funk; Hip-Hop Hip-Hop; Dance; Pop Hip-Hop; Dance; Drum & Bass I want to add a new genre to thousands of songs...

Re: Error message: "Please install iTunes in order to sync this device with MediaMonkey."

So, what happens if/when Apple decide to make iTunes only available from the Windows App Store?

Would we have to rely on 3rd party plugins?

64bit version is fine, do make sure you install the full software and not the Windows App version.
Just curious - are there any plans to fix this? More and more users expect to download apps from the Windows App Store for ease of use, accessibility, and automatic updates.

Re: Portable install loses settings.

Why might that be happening? I figured it out. The corrupted text at the start of the .ini was forcing MediaMonkey to use the local AppData folder. When I tried reinstalling MediaMonkey as a portable app, I overwrote the new 'Portable' folder with my old one, not realising it had a corrupted .ini f...

Re: Portable install loses settings.

Check if you still have [Portable] IsPortable=1 in the MediaMonkey.ini in the same Portable folder. Also check that DBName isn't set (by default it shouldn't be present in the ini). The MediaMonkey.ini file is still there, but it's first 5000 characters appear to be corrupted as they just read as g...

Re: Portable install loses settings.

This just happened to me too. I plugged my portable USB drive in today and MediaMonkey has lost all settings and preferences, and reverted back to a default version. The old MM.DB file is still there (in G:\PortableApps\MediaMonkey\Portable), it's just being ignored. I've completely removed MediaMon...

1) The Bug Tracker is public: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view_all_bug_page.php and many bugs can also be found on the forum. That's a doubly useful link, since there's a roadmap page there too. I see now that the changlog that is listed in the Beta section also leads there....I hadn't clicke...

Re: MediaMonkey & OS X

So...err...can anyone tell me where that option is? It's in the portable device options. Note that option is only for playlists made when syncing a portable device. It would be a useful option for exporting playlists to M3U files on the local filesystem, and could increase sales to Apple Mac custom...

Re: MediaMonkey & OS X

M3U playlists will be exported using the Windows file format ('\') instead of the Mac OSX format ('/'). You can set list export to Linux Format that uses "/" I didn't know about that! Where do I find that setting? I've gone through all the 'Options' and can't see it anywhere. So...err...can ...
