Re: Workaround for Zen MX Playlist Sync Issues

That is good news indeed. Hopefully the Zen sync issues reported in another thread are fixed as well. I'm currently waiting until the beta builds are no longer marked as "for developers" before jumping in. As or the 8.3 issue - I got rid of my Zen MX and I am using an older Zen (the MTP on...

Re: Workaround for Zen MX Playlist Sync Issues

Playlists, however, need to conform to the 8.3 filename limitation of the DOS stone age. ... Playlists for the Zen MX must use these short names, otherwise the Zen MX will not find the tracks referenced in the playlist. Are you sure? Or it it sufficient to e.g. just avoid spaces? I am sure. For two...

Re: 1248 Incremental auto-sync corrupts ZEN [#5833]

I've been unable to avoid it using JR Media Jukebox 14. On the last test on a ZEN with ~1000 WMAs, I added about 35 MP3s. Result: on the ZEN display evey character 7 (in metadata and even system text e.g. Bookmarks index) changed to a space character. Darn. Now it's happening on my wife's Zen 32 GB...

Re: 1248 Incremental auto-sync corrupts ZEN [#5833]

Thanks... but > My point being: I still think it might be an USB issue, that does not fit with my finding that, or WMP, JRMC and MM, MM is the only one to fail like this. What I meant is that it might be an issue related to the way MediaMonkey pushes data through the USB bus. A timing issue or some...

Re: 1248 Incremental auto-sync corrupts ZEN [#5833]

All the sync failures I got for the few months up to the point that I gave up on MediaMonkey were when using an internal front USB socket. Windows Media Player and JRiver Media Center succeed using this same socket. However this was using a long cable and I shall try the short one as you request, a...

Re: 1248 Incremental auto-sync corrupts ZEN [#5833]

I initially had the same problem with my Creative Zen player (32 GByte). Short version : The problem disappeared ever since I started using a different USB port . Long version : Recently I came across a seemingly unrelated sync problem with another MP3 player on my computer (a Zune 120 GByte). Event...

Great! Thank you very much.

Could you add the usage/install instructions to your post in the other thread, so people will not have to search two threads?

I am rather positive that there is a demand for such a script. :)

(I couldn't script my way out of a paper bag, so at least I'd be immensely grateful for a neat solution.)

Re: Confused about playlists

I spent a couple of hours analyzing the problem with the Creative Zen MX based on forum reports here and on AnythingButIpod. Doing a clean-up using recovery mode doesn't help, neither does a firmware update. I posted a workaround here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=44192&...

Uninstalling, then reinstalling MediaMonkey is quite a chore.

Re: Working desktop gadget for MM and Win 7

Does anyone have a working desktop widget / gadget for Win 7? The only one I know right now is Now Playing, currently at version 4.05 by Lawrence James (http://gadgetdev.blogspot.com/). It has a drawback, though: It likes to initialize MediaMonkey a bit brusquely, i.e. sometimes the app seems to be...

Re: Workaround for Zen MX Playlist Sync Issues

Do you think you (or someone else) can package this as a MediaMonkey script? Don't know about MM-Scripting. Can JScript be used ? According to the documentation, it can: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.php/Introduction_to_scripting The Wiki holds this caveat, though: Although, in theory, Medi...

Workaround for Zen MX Playlist Sync Issues

After seeing several people having trouble syncing their playlists with a Zen MX player, I did a bit of investigating. Summary: The Creative Zen MX firmware contains a severe bug regarding playlist management (confirmed with both firmware 1.01.06 and 1.02.04. Creative seems to be aware of this since...

Re: 1282 - Changing volume crashes MM

Same situation here. Change volume using Media Keys (either up or down) results in MM going kaboom. According to the debug build, there's a strack overflow. 3.1.2.1280 had broken the "Now Playing" gadget for me -- this works again with 3.1.2.1282. The only workaround ATM is to change the v...
